Laptop for Zoom calls

Hi all,

I'm looking for a laptop mainly for zoom calls but also general browsing etc. We need an integrated webcam of decent quality. Sound has been an issue with the existing laptop so may need to buy external speakers seperately. We don't want the Magicbook due to the location of the camera on the keyboard. The camera will need to pick up the whole room sometimes, not just a person sitting at the laptop.

Ideally would like to be able to upgrade the RAM. My budget is 400 to 600

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

with Brexit now the choices are being vastly reduced as amazon is the only choice from the UK unless others start selling directly to Ireland (if don't then you pay both UK VAT and IRE VAT) and you will be facing duty (over 150 euros value)

and amazon does not normally have the best deals for laptops

this is a good deal - buy 4gb more ram on amazon to bring up to 8gb or go bigger for more

most of the webcams that come with laptops are poor in any case - dim picture, low res, narrow angle, no autofocus, poor mic

better off buying a usb one to solve that, especially if going to be using it a lot

Additional 8gb RAM received today and fitted to laptop. The laptop is working well now. Thanks again Glasso

I used the crucial system scanner which was handy. It scans the laptop and gives details of max RAM the laptop can take and compatible RAM details.
