Temporary flooring for a hall

Hi,

I wil be doing major renovations in a few years. Anyway, the flooring in a small hall is those old grey asbestos tiles (and concrete mixed in where there isn't tiles!) and I am looking for something inexpensive to cover in the interim period that won't look crap. Anybody have suggestions for something that would be easy and not messy to install. Thanks for your help.

If you get a decent lino professionally laid it will be cheap and Look decent for a few years

My pictures of it ? Alot of times its better to bury asbestos and it's adhesive in floor leveling compound.

I'd say that in time configuration of rooms will change which is why I just essentially want to cover it for the moment. Then, further along I will remove properly.

Laminate would cover that up nicely.

The bumps might show through if you put down lino.

maybe even an LVT over laminate, can get that in 4-6mm

I stripped out the entire downstairs of my home a few years ago,
I got rid of everything in the one sweep in to a large skip which saved me money not having to purchase another at a later date,

However the only impact then; was that I had no flooring;
I went to IKEA and purchased there cheapest floor Matt which is 3x2M per mat and cost €9 each at the time and I've fitted them like carpet; I don't have to get a skip to dispose of the IKEA matts when finished I can dispose of them one per week in the domestic wheelie bin.

That was four years ago now and there still in my living room and hall as I have to replace door frames and doors before finally fitting the flooring.

I am not a DIY person (I do some limited DIY - not very well at times) but I do know when it comes to asbestos - if you can at all - leave it where it is - cover it / bury it.

There are serious risks in removing asbestos - as it breaks up, fibres become airborne. Asbestos has to be tackled by professionals - in their white gowns etc - best to avoid disturbing it.
