But seriously, he runs https://www.garden.ie and is editor of "The Irish Garden" magazine, plus is a gardening contributor to The Independent, the Evening Herald, and the Irish Farmer's Journal. I found all this out by doing a Google search for his name, and then reading this Wikipedia article which came up in the results: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Daly_(gardener)

He lost a plant off to Diarmuid Gavin.
Had to give Gavin his hoes and trowels, and promise to stay out of Montrose.

Last I heard hes flogging raddishes and scallions out of an old Astra at Castletownroche farmers market, while Gavin swans around Chelsea and Woodies.

No, hardcore corn..I’m reading he’s only 68, I thought nearer 878...seems like he’s been around forever, he’s certainly been on the radio 20 years ago when I was coming in from school, always seemed like an affable fella, with a passion for his work.

He died in a mysterious musical accident, the details of which the police said were better left uninvestigated.

    (Spinal Tap reference).
