Has anyone else experienced this?

Any solutions?

I just get that grey screen with the white line through the camera either through zoom or opening up the camera app.

no idea.

try uninstalling the webcam in device manager and rebooting.

otherwise google your model for specific issue to see if someone else had it

this is a decent webcam that would be much better quality (autofocus, wide angle, 1080p) than what was in the laptop if you need a replacement

Is there a cover for the camera that may be hard to see if it's on or off?

that laptop does come with a webcam privacy shutter

pretty convenient fix yet also a little embarrassing if that is the issue ::pac:

Lenovo also have a Function key to turn off the camera. F6 or F8 I think ? You might need to hold the Fn key while pressing them. I get this problem so often with users.
