Recently got the transmission oil changed in my car. My NCT is Saturday afternoon and now a transmission warning light has appeared. Its an orange light of a clog with an exclamation mark in it. It appeared while driving this morning but disappeared when I went on lunch break.

Is an orange transmission light a fail if it appears during the NCT. I havent a hope in hell in getting it fixed between now and Saturday. The car felt no different, no noises etc.

    Car is a e92 M3 auto.

I'll go out on a limb and say "maybe" :)
Bring car in anyway as it may fail on something else and then you can fix everything all at once.

Do you know anyone with an OBD Scanner? If you could get it scanned and identify the fault, then it may be possible to clear the fault. There are lots of things that can trigger a fault....and quite a lot of them are once off faults, One or more systems can briefly exceed their parameters, and that will show as a stored fault which can be cleared from the memory. And aside from getting you out of NCT trouble, will show what' s wrong in the first place. Good Luck

I was wondering what a clog with an exclamation marked looked like.

BTW the French equivalent of a clog was called a sabot.
During the industrial revolution, French peasants fearful for their jobs might throw a clog into the works to break the automation. Hence the word "sabotage".

    OK carry on.

That is what the OP means.

In relation to the OP most likely its abs ring or abs sensor
    Thats at fault.

No its not a nct fail

Thanks lads. Mechanic said it'll be fine for the NCT. Worse case scenario would likely be a visual retest. It hasn't came back on since.

@Cml387 meant cog but between fat fingers and autocorrect I typed clog.

    It passed.

Thanks for the replies. The light stayed off.
