Recommend me a food processor

My old Kenwood has served its time:
the blade isn't sharp enough, (and can't be sharpened, apparently) and the motor isn't really whirring with much power at all.

So when I try to make breadcrumbs out of stale bread (its commonest use) the lumps of bread just whirl around and don't get chopped into crumbs.

So it is time for a new one: but these are expensive!

I do NOT need wheat grinders or carrot shredders or any gadgets at all, really. The citrus juicer was the only gadget of this that I ever used, apart from making breadcrumbs.

I want a food chopper that is sharp, powerful, durable, simple and not too dear. [and doesn't cover half a square yard and fill three shelves with bitty accessories]

Wise foodies of boards.ie - who can recommend one?

A mini chopper might suit, they're quite powerful and do a good job.

I have a Bosch immersion blender and mini chopper in one - same motor attachment for both; as well as a whisk head and a jar that's useful for making mayonnaise. The mini chopper has normal and ice crusher blades and is significantly more powerful (600W) than that Kenwood one.

Seems to be off the market now, but there is a slightly larger 800W stainless steel one - mine has a white plastic motor body but the immersion blender is stainless

I still have the huge full size food processor as well; but its used solely for dough work or making meat mixtures for sausage/patty style things; nothing else. My kitchen has plenty of cabinet storage to waste luckily!

If you are only using it for breadcrumbs Id say those mini hand blenders would do the trick, lots of options out there for under 30 euro. Many of them come with attachments like a stick to blend soup and a whisk for cream too.

If I was getting a full size one Id go for the Kenwood Multipro. Thought about buying it earlier this year but I couldnt justify it for all the use it would get. But from reviews it seems a solid model, theres various versions some with loads of attachments and other cheaper ones with very few. A couple of versions have an integrated weighing scales which sounds handy.
