I find Illy grand. Granted it is ground but Ive always got excellent crema from it. I do think it is over priced at almost 9 euro for 250g, you might as well buy freshly roasted beans at that price point. But at 5.50 its a good deal plus the tins are vacumn sealed so last ages.

Crema, in my experience, is a reflection of the volume of the natural oils in the coffee which are directly proportional to the roast duration. So although the coffee hasn't entirely dried out as preground certainly does rapidly its reflection of the roast profile used - towards a French roast which I find unpalatable.

I did not think it was great and id drink anything. They have one for 7.99 thats a lot better in my opinion.

No offense, and I know this is a bargains thread, but I'll be avoiding Amazon at all costs (literally) and will try to support local.

I get most of my coffee from a roaster in Luxembourg. If you buy 2.25 Kg at a time, they work out cheaper than buying locally including shipping.

Any of their Ethiopians (Äthiopien) I have tried, which is probably most at this point

I’m just sort of working my way through the whole catalogue and have yet to find something I wouldn’t hesitate to order again. They do some assortment sets which I haven’t tried but suspect I should.

The first two I listed are standouts for me, the Indian pearlbean being particularly strong and flavoursome. I tend to order 4 x 500g plus one 250g. I'll be reordering the Mexico and Kolumian again, which are currently on hand and getting low. My main problem is I just want them all.

I am not sure if it makes a difference, but there's a location tab top left which I always set to Luxembourg. I'm not sure it makes a difference but the mswt/VAT is only 2.3% and I want to ensure thats the rate I get.
