Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Saturday morning as a kid, after school on a wet wednesday, watching with your own little brats or laughing your head off at them as an adult just because you can. Most of us have or have had a fondness for animated capers at some stage. My question to you all is, which is the best one ever? Is it from the 80's? 90's? Maybe before or after those periods?! Well let's find out, shall we?!

Would prefer nominations via PM folks. Just adds a little more mystery to the line-up and makes it less predictable. I'll throw yours in though Sour!

Quick update. We have over 50 unique nominations on the list. I'll leave the ballot open until tomorrow in case we have a few undecideds or maybe people who haven't seen the thread yet. Then we can think about starting the tournament.

Never a fan of either so Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the lesser evil.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,127 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

That is an unfortunate draw :(

Gotta go with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles though

    Cos they're heroes in a half-shell, and they're green!

(Also the theme tune is awesome)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,480 ✭✭✭✭Tauriel

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I can remember watching this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ; I was obsessed with the Turtles when I was a kid. Had the action figures, the duvet cover, the t-shirts, and any other TMNT merch I could get. Even now, in my thirties, I still have a Turtles hoodie and a Turtles wallet. Michelangelo was my favourite when I was young, but over the years I've channeled Raphael and grown up to be just as sarcastic and nihilistic as Raph was.

Donatella is my favourite turtle so have to be TMNT

Such an unfortunate draw... both should be in the shakedown to win this!

I’ll go with He-Man because it was probably the main cartoon from my early childhood

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,868 ✭✭✭JohnGreenFan

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - my nom and one of my favourite shows as a kid! I had so much Turtles lego...

Would also have to lean Towards the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He-Man never really struck a chord with me at all, but I always remember visiting a cousin that lived in Dublin when I was a child, and he had all the Turtles merchandise. Used to watch the cartoon and skid around the room with the toy van and figures for hours on end. Always enjoyed that cartoon.

Turtles was one of my big ones as a kid for toys and games all that as well as the show.

He-man I only know as memes

    So turtles for me

    Xmen
Mainly cause I've never seen Duckman

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,021 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

X-Men was one of the classics of that genre of 90s Saturday morning TV.

I did like Duckman at the time but had forgotten about it years ago so gotta be X-Men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

I obviously spend too much time outdoors - never heard of either.

    X-Men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

X-Men ; a staple of my childhood cartoons, I always wanted to be like Gambit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,868 ✭✭✭JohnGreenFan

X-Men because like others, never heard of Duckman.

google says it was an adult oriented animated series from 1994-1997. I was more a thomas the tank engine fan at the point of my life!

    Never heard of X-Men?

    Are you sh*tting me?

    Even my Granny knows X-Men...

Do you happen to live outside? Under a rock perhaps?

    :pac:

Heart broken we never got a Gambit in the movies or maybe it's a blessing.

If this Covid vaccine makes us all mutants I want my super power to be Gambits accent

X-Men here, too. Never really watched Duckman, might not have been the target audience for that one (although I am familiar with it).

This is tough, have to go with Doug

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,127 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Rugrats - Doug was only alright whereas Rugrats had a host of memorable characters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,480 ✭✭✭✭Tauriel

    Rugrats

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Rugrats - the humor was bang - or at least I thought that at the time and that Jessica was an evil little witch with poor Chucky bearing the brunt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Rugrats ; such a clever and original show, Doug was quite generic by contrast

Very difficult one here, but I think I'd have to nudge in favour of the Rugrats. Both were great shows, and I have similar memories of them both, but Rugrats just marginally takes the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,661 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

Ah Rugrats one of my noms

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,726 ✭✭✭nothing

Rugrats for me, definitely better stories, better characters
