Now we move on to the manliest of all manly pursuits:

    tenor.gif

    3. Sport
    VK2RnBI.png

    Top Row:
LeBron James – American basketball player.
Sam Bennett – Irish cyclist and Tour de France Green Jersey winner 2020.
Rafa Nadal - Spanish tennis player and undisputed king of the French Open. Somewhat interesting fact: despite playing tennis left-handed, he’s not a true “leftie” and actually writes with his right hand!
Sebastien Chabal - French rugby player, and answer to the age-old scientific question “what do you get if you cross Jesus with an actual FÚCKING TANK” ?

    Bottom Row:
Marcus Rashford – Man Utd. and England footballer. Recently known for controversially advocating in favour of disadvantaged children being fed, which of course is an unthinkably radical proposition in Tory Britain.
Ian Thorpe – Australian swimmer and Olympic gold medallist. Shoe size = 17.
Shane Lowry – Irish golfer. “His notable achievements include winning the 2019 Open Championship, the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, and the 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.” (stolen from Wikipedia)
Muhammad Ali - American boxer. Floated like a butterfly, stung like a bee.

We have a mouton in this round as the Frenchman is Le Sheep.
Green&Red shows us why he's the reigning Peehs champ by securing a lovely Ace. Zaph also grabs one.

yaboya1 is unlucky to select the wrong cyclist.
LadySkunk selects the frontman of Coldplay.

Tuned in just in time to see incorrect beside my name :(

I do find it fitting that a member of Genesis was inducted by a member of Coldplay. I’ll say no more.

Yeah, but he bought some houses with money that he's earned. Disgraceful hypocrite, he should domicile overseas and avoid tax like their fine upstanding British patriots

    Sorry... slightly off topic :o

Actually, the Rashford conversation leads us very nicely into Question 4: everyone's favourite topic of Politics.
Only 6 of these men will score points. There will be 3 incorrect answers, including one from
    LadySkunk

    4. Politics
All of these men have served as the head of government of a country at some point in time
    LsDb6wB.png

    Top Row:
Shinzo Abe – Prime Minister of Japan, 2006-2007 and 2012-2020.
Joseph Stalin – Dictator and Chief Moustache of the Soviet Union, 1924-1953.
Barack Obama – President of the United States of America, 2008-2016.
Seán Lemass - Taoiseach of Ireland, 1959-1966.

    Bottom Row:
Kim Jong-un – ‘Supreme Leader’ of North Korea, 2011-present.
John Major – Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, 1990-1997.
Haile Selassie – Emperor of Ethiopia, 1930-1974.
Silvio ‘Bunga Bunga’ Berlusconi - Prime Minister of Italy on three different occasions! from 1994 to 1995, 2001 to 2006 and 2008 to 2011. Italians be crazy.

    John Major Sheeps.....

...while our own Lemass scores NOTHING AT ALL! NOTHING AT ALL! NOTHING AT ALL! (stupid sexy Taoiseach)

Perhaps more surprisingly, the Supreme Leader is also a non-scorer; conor222 took a swing but sadly gave me the wrong Kim. Unlucky.

Green&Red holds his lead, with the purple tin coming in second. Zaph and Reberetta are just a further point behind.

In the race for the wooden spoon....well, it's not a really race anymore is it? LadySkunk's.....um.....exemplary answers thus far keep her "ahead" of the rest.

Right, this is the point where I stopped making preparatory notes so we might be a little slower from hereon in! We're almost at the halfway point so there'll be a teabeer break soon.

Question 5 concerns writers, and is probably one of the toughest questions in the game. You may not have known all the faces here but I'm sure you'll know most of, if not all, the names.

    5. Literature
    1jqAJiZ.png

    Top Row:
Salman Rushdie – British-Indian novelist, known for magical-realist fiction. Had a fatwa issued against him.
Haruki Murakami – Japanese novelist, known for magical-realist fiction. Has not had a fatwa issued against him (that I know of).
James Joyce – Irish writer, known for beautiful prose, incomprehensible babble and questionable love letters. Buried with his family in Zurich.
Stephen King - American author known for his horror novels and supernatural thrillers.

    Bottom Row:
George Orwell – Britain's ray of sunshine. Knew that pigs were bastards.
Roald Dahl – Beloved Welsh-Norwegian author of children's classics.
Terry Pratchett – British writer and humorist best known for his science fiction. Sadly died in 2015 after years of suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Oscar Wilde - Irish playwright, novelist and wit. Either that wallpaper goes or he does!

That one bugged me. I knew I knew it and I knew it was someone obvious!

As with the last question, we have two answers here not selected; I'm not too surprised with Dahl (just because I had no idea what he looked like until I made this quiz!) but nobody opting for Joyce is a bit of a shocker!

Bad news for those who selected Stephen King, as he proves to be the biggest Sheep of the night thus far.
Even worse news for the purple tin, who mixes up their Japanese writers in what proves to be a very costly error!
