I find it hard to believe that Glynn can't pinpoint where these cases are coming from. They didn't just appear out of thin air.

48 hour contact tracing doesnt tell you a lot

Glynn - The positive trajectory in preventing the spread of the virus has at best stalled.

Later says - Can't pinpoint exactly where the issues are occurring, no one thing causing this (I find that hard to believe)

Sounds like arse covering to me.

Schools and workplaces. Hello people. Stop talking around what we all know.

    And it’s a virus. It’s not a disease.

They had no issue blaming house parties when we had 1000 cases a day.

~400 cases and they can't tell where they came from? And that's the public's fault, how?

i suppose they needed something to take away from schools reopening after midterm possibly causing an increase again, take-away pints it is! :D

The schools are causing a lot of spread clearly. Did you hear that witchy one deflecting about long covid centres, "that will be something you'll need to ask the HSE" well she's asking the HSE through you you stupid bitch.

7 Day % decline in new cases is slowing which suggests R 0.9 and if this trend continues new cases may show growth within 3 to 5 days, this should not be happening if Level 5 is working

I find it hard to believe that Glynn can't pinpoint where these cases are coming from. They didn't just appear out of thin air.

Social gatherings, family get togethers - he said it, without explicitly stating it was the only cause.

That was my whole point earlier today.

The laws that they need are already there, just a case of actually enforcing the current ones. Problem solved

****ing hell Dublin would be some city if they bothered enforcing half the laws that are there.

It might get rid of all the walking dead congregating on the streets for one.

very true ! i think a better breakdown of where cases are coming from would help the buy in .... unless they don't match where you are putting in restrictions (which is what we all suspect)

An Garda Síochána in Donegal are appealing to the public over the next number of weeks of level 5 restrictions to reduce non-essential travel and not leave their place of residence without reasonable excuse. We have been performing checkpoints and using the graduated response to members of the public travelling around the County, but commencing tomorrow morning across Donegal we will be redoubling our efforts with an extensive network of static and random checkpoints across the County.
At these checkpoints Gardaí will be interviewing people as to why they have left their residence and unless it is to access an essential retail outlet or essential service or to work in said essential outlet or services, Gardaí will be requesting members of the public to come into compliance and return to their home.
Unfortunately traffic across the county has continued to remain busy and the numbers of positive COVID 19 cases are also remaining stubbornly high.

Glynn just said Lockdowns aren'ta primary objective. We've been lockdown four to five of the last nine months.

He's waffling, didn't say anything of the sort. GPs are reporting no clear increase in test requests, HSE swab data suggests no increase in demand over the weekend. Average number of contacts hasn't increased in 3 weeks.

Spot on. We even had one poster on here a couple of days saying that the increase in the 5 day average was due to loads of Halloween parties taking place across the country.

So far we have seen it blamed on and in no particular order, the young people, the hospitals, the meat factories, house parties, restaurants/pubs, Italian rugby fans, folk shopping, the border, nursing homes, the holy communions, the GAA celebrations, private households and now street parties but never ever the schools! Nothing to see there at all, folks! The virus seemingly can't exist in schools. It's great altogether!

i believe letterkenny prostitutes were blamed at one point.

Exactly. He's spoofing as a number of them have been spoofing about schools for a long time now.

Yeah exactly. I think if there was a deterrent of a fine it could be used. Even if it was to spread out groups. But can understand it would be a bit like whack a mole from Gardai's point of view and maybe down their list of priorities.

Nearly easier to allow pubs to open serving outside to limited number and no takeaway than enforcing this or banning takeway altogether. It seems to be a minority of pubs and people acting the maggot though.

As someone posted today Dublin has had restrictions since March with no break. No other country has had that level of restrictions for that long, not even close to it. People need a break, they are fed up with it.

It had no restrictions in the summer, you could travel in and out of Dublin around Ireland for holidays

No doubt and if further stuck again they'll always go back to the old reliable of 'private households'.

It is infantile to get annoyed and say you're fed up when someone points out the obvious.

Saying Halloween was really well managed but he can't rule out spread being caused.

People are getting tired "We're three weeks in" (we're four weeks in).

    Schools still not being mentioned.

Paul Cullen asking about shops being a significant contributor. Glynn saying any environment that brings people in together.

He's trying to claim there is surveillance and reporting.

I'm wondering where big T is.

Some businesses like wet pubs haven't opened at all in Dublin. It's always been under some tighter restriction than everywhere else

Large outbreak related to Limerick hospital, leading to community cases. But he couldn't say that earlier...

Incredible that there are all these industries with outbreaks and that none of them have children of school-going age!
