You would wonder where he got it from. Tyrone club football isn`t exactly a gentleman`s excuse me.

At IC level you play the assessor in the stand rather than the game Infront of you.

My dad showed me forms they have to fill before and it's ridiculous.

It`s gone too far. God be with the days of Pat Mc Enaney who knew how to control games while at the same time understanding IC championship football was no place for Mammy`s boys and let them at it hammer and tongs

Hands up who favours us playing with the usual gale in the first half if we win the toss?

No brainer pour moi,get on the front foot.Best have them chasing the game.

Funny as a manager I always play against the wind if given the choice.

Always think that the first 10mins of a game as very much a feeling each other 9ut process.

Malachy Clerkin Irish Times today "Galway have had a month to get ready. Not insignificantly, they have had their asses handed to them once already so there’s surely no chance of them coming in undercooked. The new faces in the Mayo set-up have had a dream introduction but Galway were flying under Padraic Joyce in the spring. If he has them back in that sort of fettle, they should prevail here." Joyce will have Galway fired up, I hope Mayo are ready for their intensity and cool heads will also be required. Good luck to James and Team tomorrow.

Clerkin a good journalist but his match predictions tend to be more miss than hit.

Many a day I was roaring out at him as well and it wasn`t wishing him my best wishes. I actually miss his common sense approach to games now looking at the present crop of whistlers.

Gough is by far and away the best of all the referees out there at the moment. Knows the rules and applies them and uses the advantage rule to allow the game flow. Very few can have any complaints about his officiating.

By far the best out there now. The work he does on twitter is fantastic too. Really helps people understand the challenges referees face in subjective rules and even just educating people on the rules themselves!!!

In fairness he is a very good ref. Unfortunately the gap between him and the rest looks to be growing rather than going the other way at senior inter county level. At least Marty Duffy from Sligo is gone. Christ he was dire.

The only positive of a no fans is we dont have to be leaving around now to beat the traffic getting to salthill.

Lovely winter morning here in the west.

Fingers crossed the weather holds up and we can bring home the Nestor Cup after far too long a drought.

Actually I think the real positive of no fans is that our team don't have to hear all the moans and groans when our players make mistakes.

My Mrs is from Galway but has been on this journey with me since 2012 and roars and shouts more than most for the green and red cause. She always says though the players must feel the pressure from the crowd the weight of expectation. I actually think no crowd is a positive in this sense.

    Very surprised at that.

James Carr can do real damage when he's on song..

    Very strong Galway bench.

Boyler really mustn't be setting the world on fire in training.

Can see Fionn having a major impact today, actually wouldn't be surprised to see him start instead.

Also will be very interesting to see how we approach their kickouts. Personally I'd surrender the first few and press like crazy then. See how that approach works.

I thought Carr might even start
Not sure what’s going on there ..........
Of course the 26 could change yet

Would much prefer Carr on bench instead of bryan Walsh, disappointed about Boyle, would be a great player for 20 minutes at the end of a game

Getting nervous now. Would normally be on the road to Salthill now.

I’m expecting a different Galway tactic to the one in the league. Still hopeful of mayo being ahead at half time then a matter of hanging on and holding of the pre half time fight back.

I hope Boyle won’t be missed and we can work around that. Weather will be dry but expect the usual Atlantic breeze.

Miss the office craic in the lead up to these games. The Galway lads are being very quiet on the WhatsApp chat group. Either way one set of supporters will be glad if working from home.

    Come on Mayo
