The increase undoubtedly a correlation with the schools being open nearly two weeks. Tony and the Government wouldn't dream of admitting it though.

That doesn't come through in any stats though. Community testing all down, GP referrals sharply down.

They'd go opposite way if schools were a big issue.

Theres more bigger problems at the moment that schools i think

It actually seems to be from the hospitals. Numerous clusters originating in hospital. There are also cases of outbreaks in nursing hones after residents came from hospitals.

Disappointed with those numbers ... not surprised, it’s nothing like level 5 around the country even the check points are starting to disappear. Schools open and supermarkets not watching how many in stores.
Was in tesco this morning and it was jammed..very little distancing being adhered to.

If there was an uptick from schools reopening after the schools reopening, it would be kicking in round now, right?

Certainly looks that way. HPSC data will be interesting for this week in terms of outbreak locations

History repeating itself, we never learn in this country.

I'm sure you can go back through all the figures from when the schools were open, closed and opened back up and if you're correct, you will see the incidence rate in school aged kids reducing from schools being closed and now increasing as they are back open.
Should put the schools causing the spread to bed.

Hospital or nursing hoem cases would be driving the death rate.

Sure, Tony, nothing to do with the numbers staying stubbornly high and increasing in the last few days because of the million people in schools interacting with each other on a daily basis, nothing to do with that at all at all!!

Was around town at lunchtime yesterday. Large gangs of school kids hanging around outside various shops. They were huddled together like a colony of penguins in a David Attenborough documentary. Some were wearing masks but alot seemed to put them back in the pockets once they came out of shops. Hadn't really witnessed this before but assume its an every day occurrence. To be honest it's sickening that half the country is forced to close down yet this is happening, its rubbing people's noses in it and making a joke of our whole covid plan of action.

Hearing that Cummings will hang on until mid December in the Johnson administration WTAF?

Eddie Lister taking over on an interim basis, has a good track record from what I can see. But if reports are true, can't see Cummings taking any orders until he ACTUALLY fecks off. What a mess.

I'm sure he knows that but if he spoke out about it he would cause a massive right between NPHET and the government, which is determined to keep the schools open come what may.

You can't call it based off of kids because most of them are asymptomatic.
Cases in the home is what we have to look at. If cases in the home start growing then we have to look at the schools.

The plan is so schools can stay open. Theres no one in control of them (secondary mostly) once they leave the school property.

Sky news saying he's left Downing st for the last time. With their responses to Covid and Brexit to date it will be an interesting end to 2020 for sure.

So it's the hospitals now! Before that in no particular order it was the young people, the house parties, the meat factories, restaurants/pubs, folk shopping, the border, nursing homes, the holy communions, the GAA celebrations, private households but never ever the schools! Nothing to see there at all, folks! The virus seemingly can't exist in schools. It's great altogether!

If it's back in the nursing homes via the hospitals heads have to roll.
