Hello, have received great advice on here before so...

Have plenty of space beside fireplace atm and want to build in shelving. Before I start which one would be cheaper, complete via plastering around basic wooden frames or built in cabinets like built in wardrobes (minus the doors in parts obviously). I have someone lined up to give me a quote along the plastering line but don't want to waste their time if its the more expensive option. Its around 2m width x height of standard ceiling.

dont think i understand what you mean by plastering shelves. .
building proper built in cabinets is not cheap. 800-1500 a linier meter depending on spec

Apologies, lacked detail perhaps. A plaster finish rather than a timber finish may be a better way of putting it.
