Can we actually travel? I'd love a sun holiday. I'm sick to death of the whole thing. My entire maternity leave has been a lockdown. Had to attend all my antenatal appointments alone. Gave birth during a f*cking pandemic, terrified and alone, no family or friends around for support, both my parents and OHs parents stuck abroad, didn't get to meet their granddaughter for ages (and OHs family still hasn't). Weather is píssy. Back to work in January and I've literally not left my county. We've been 100 percent compliant since March while others around us flout the restrictions and basically just don't give a shít and I'm just done at this stage. :D
There's nothing to stop you apart from the restrictions wherever you hope to go. Check out local isolation rules first and in theory you'll be able to do test here when you come back.

Can't seem to get the Louth numbers down either....probably for the same reason as Donegal. Cases have been concentrated in the northern part of the county.

He'll be grand. No contacts and definitely not 15m in each one anyway!

Their thinking, badly communicated IMO, is that we'll relax too much and the number of cases may not come down enough. HSE are more positive and Reid did say vaccine data was good news.

Well “superhero” Tony houlihan is constant fear mongering and nothing else.pity he wasn’t as concerned about the cervical screening cock up.people need to relax and not be obsessed 24/7 about bloody Covid.

Fergal Bowers is reporting that “reinfection is possible, there have been 14 cases worldwide”.

That’s 14 out of 50,000,000! Is he taking the p1ss or what?

Sadly we may struggle to get Donegal, Louth and other border counties along with Dublin back down when we have the mess that’s going on in the North.

There are so many cross border workers popping over and back in both directions. The North is greyed out on the ECDC map because they are doing such low amount of testing.

I never ever thought I’d say this, but we now need to restrict movement into and out of the 6 Counties.

Is it possible to have the border counties in Level 3/4 with all retail open and the rest of the country in level 2/3?

Winning the lotto is also quite possible.

    More so in fact

Thanks! OH is working from home and I'm still on mat leave so we can isolate anyway when we are back :) (that's all we've been doing anyway!)

90 in Dublin, 48 in Donegal, 34 in Limerick, 29 in Louth, 24 in Limerick and the remaining 137 cases are spread across 21 other counties.

    Poor Limerick in twice

    The 24 is in Cork

Well, we are just about to become an Orange country on the new EU travel system so that might help a bit.

Even though Limerick, Meath, Roscommon, Westmeath... have higher 14 day incidents than Louth, Monaghan or Cavan? Hardly logical.

Would Limerick's high numbers be as a result of an outbreak in the hospital

I mean when we are trying to stop the overflow from the 6 counties

No idea. I was replying to the notion of restrictions on border counties

I know I wont see one of my grandchildren who was supposed to be here from abroad.
I still think the ad is lovely

Then it's keeping them within NI that's needed, not restricting our border counties. Vast numbers travel from NI to Dublin on a daily bases - they don't just stop when they cross the border.

I suppose eventually it becomes like music, given that we are 28 threads in, there's only so many ways to type up a post that won't sound like something that was posted before.

Thing is, most people's posts and opinions have moved with the thread and from reading other people's posts and making some effort to understand what is going on .
I think some of these posters that are posting the exact same stuff without any sign of understanding are just trolling this thread for the crack at this stage , and not worth replying to .

The real question is why did we close the pubs and never allow them to reopen in Dublin...

How many are currently in hospital DUE to Covid. So exclude the ones that just tested positive in there.

How many are in ICU? Is the death rate still tiny?

This whole thing is a farce.
Put proper steps in place in hospitals and nursing homes and there is no crisis.

So you reckon loosening all restrictions would be sound.

There likely have ben a lot more than 14. That is just the ones where someone had the time to have a closer look.
