Won't I be forced into quarantine by the Schutzstaffel ?

So will Leo and his SS storm troopers allow me to come home for Christmas ? I am in Spain - epicentre of the Covid (funny hospitals aren't so busy tho) ....
You'll be fine, might have to do a test, either there or here though.

It's like time machine back to the Summer at times reading this thread.

"When can we re-open again and how fast can we do it, especially the pubs"

"That Thomas Ryan is such a doom-monger - even if he was totally right about a second wave, us not being prepared for it and a second lock-down - God what a totally accurate doomer that guy is!"

5 days if you produce a negative PCR.

But you know that I assume given you're complaining about it.

Thomas Ryan, Staines et al are all delusional. Ryan wants to postpone Christmas until the end of January. They don’t give a toss about the ordinary people.
Plus the basket case that is Northern Ireland can’t agree on restrictions and guess what we’ve an open border!!

That's only of you want to avoid 'restricted movements' which is totally wishy washy.
If he's going to stay with family he can just 'restrict his movements' from his family's home.

The real question is why did we close the pubs and never allow them to reopen in Dublin...

How many are currently in hospital DUE to Covid. So exclude the ones that just tested positive in there.

How many are in ICU? Is the death rate still tiny?

This whole thing is a farce.
Put proper steps in place in hospitals and nursing homes and there is no crisis.

He can. That will be his decision.

Can we actually travel? I'd love a sun holiday. I'm sick to death of the whole thing. My entire maternity leave has been a lockdown. Had to attend all my antenatal appointments alone. Gave birth during a f*cking pandemic, terrified and alone, no family or friends around for support, both my parents and OHs parents stuck abroad, didn't get to meet their granddaughter for ages (and OHs family still hasn't). Weather is píssy. Back to work in January and I've literally not left my county. We've been 100 percent compliant since March while others around us flout the restrictions and basically just don't give a shít and I'm just done at this stage. :D

Stable number on cases. The way deaths are reported remains odd, 16 yesterday and 2 today and 1 happened in October.

This is what Christmas is about. A bit cheesy but it’s good

Good news as an example that some might be interested in here. A family member in their 80s just had cancer surgery that went well. So not all cancer surgerys cancelled.
On a side note over the last while they have been tested/swapped maybe 6 times and that number will be even more before rhey get home. All negative...

I also see that we've gone orange, down below 150 per 100K and below 4% positivity!

"orange if the 14-day notification rate is lower than 50 cases per 100 000 but the test positivity rate is 4% or higher or, if the 14-day notification rate is between 25 and 150 cases per 100 000 and the test positivity rate is below 4%;"

Very good news, hopefully a quick recovery, best wishes to them

Dublin not as bad as the last couple of days. Poor Donegal - they can't seem to make any headway.

We need level 2 for at least from the 10th of December up until the 1st of January

To be so far into this and to read posts like this that show such a basic lack of understanding is depressing.

Im in Spain, down south, not much virus where I am. I had family and friends staying. Not long gone back. Weather's good, not rushing back til summer.

I wouldn't be expecting any decrease in Donegal, to be honest. The north is f*cked.

I suppose eventually it becomes like music, given that we are 28 threads in, there's only so many ways to type up a post that won't sound like something that was posted before.

Have many deaths occurred in Donegal? Just wondering, what kind of demographic it might be spreading among there, seeing as the context seems to be very different apparently if the spread can be limited by our current restrictions in every county but donegal
