Over 21% positive on test in the north, that is pretty high, seems like they are not testing enough.

I could be wrong but are they only testing close contacts with symptoms?

I think that they don't ask close contacts to have a test

Does he mean people in at risk groups will be vaccinated by then so that restrictions may not need to be as severe? It seems fairly optimistic. It would be brilliant if it was the case but was thinking social distancing, mask wearing etc would be around for a while yet until significant number of populations vaccinated but I'd be delighted if it worked like that.

Yes, we could easily move to a Level 2 scenario in Q2 2021 with the economy open and unrestricted travel.

Massive program to vaccinate the over 70s in Q1 and then off we go. Triple advantage - vaccine, improved treatments and spring/summer weather.

    Will this be possible here?

Well seeing as they managed to do mass testing in nursing homes in a couple of weeks that much should be feasible

Spring runs from March to May. The UK have a listing of priorities. This comes from September and you'd expect it to be similar elsewhere.

Sure but will still need to enter and complete phase 4, be distributed in sufficent quantity and delivered. Things to seem to be accelerating at pace though so would be great if everything fell into place by then.

Why would there be any restrictions after the at-risk group has been vaccinated? There may never be sufficient uptake of a vaccine to ensure herd immunity and life has to go on.

Good. Could be < 300 cases today? Lowish number of tests but +rate is continuing to fall.

If there was overlap yesterday (542 cases??) then we could be seeing 100s-200s today.

With this and the Pfizer news - this could be a very encouraging day.

Yesterday cleared the backlog. Since 3rd of Oct we now have 314 more swabs than cases so i expect the cases will be below 300 based on that.
