Genuinely think Connacht is the only thing really on James Horan's agenda this year tbh. Anything past Connacht is bonus territory with the squad being where it is right now. And anyone who watched Cork today and thinks they'll be some kind of pushover is deluded frankly.

You must have watched a different match to me, that is a poor Cork team. One shooter. If Kerry had any interest in attacking them they’d have been out of sight

    Tipperary could easily beat them

Hard to know what to make of Cork after that. It was a terrible game of football but the conditions were pretty poor.

I think we need to be concentrating on Galway first before worrying about the rest just yet.

I doubt I speak or indeed any of us speak for the management team or players.
Doesn't really matter what any of us concentrate on tbf.
I am concentrating a plotting a path through this level five time frame.

Good solid win. Some great performances through the team and the bench was vital.
Fitness and lack of injury key now.

Will be a cracker next weekend.

I suspect we have a non Mayo supporter pulling the piss on here too but that's been realised already.

Cork defended very well today and kept Kerry's key players out of it. They were very good from placed balls. They handled the physicality of the game well. It's not entirely fair to put it all at Kerry's door.

No, but you'd have to admit Kerry's attitude today was absolutely atrocious. Killian Spillane is about the only player who really looked like he had the urgency to take the game to Cork. They got a kick in the bollocks because they left their legs wide open.

Get real . Horan didn’t come back to win connacht championships . He’s has enough of them already . He’s back to win the all Ireland and they have every chance of being in the final now

A Connaught title would be a good year and I agree anything after it would be a bonus this year.

Of course Horan came back to try and win the AI but sound foundations are needed and these are being allowed to breathe right now.

I don't think you can say it was a poor Cork team. The conditions were attrocious also I think Kerry had every interest in beating them they were just over confident and assumed they would win. Clifford was both outstanding and terrible so that didn't help them. I am not one to assume so I am hoping we get past Galway and if we do I would much rather meet Cork than meet Kerry.

Mayo even when in their prime struggled to win against cork. Extra time in Limerick and a late goal in croke park. Anyways it could be Tipp Galway but on form Cork Mayo. Cork have plenty good young talent coming through and open spaces of croker would suit them. Mayo would be favourites but no surprise if either team won.

Galway will be up for the game after the recent beating in the league. Joyce took this bad and I expect them to be well tuned in. They were all over the place in the league and it will be totally different next sunday. If Comer is out then that's a real plus

He's in the process of rebuilding the team. They are a young team in transition. We haven't won a Connacht title in a long time. So yes, I do think that is the main thing on the agenda for this year.

The Kerry attitude was bad as was their game management, but Cork handled the game well. Like I said, defending well and being well up to the physicality of the game. They have some good players there and seized the moment. They have had a tough decade or so, but Cork has had decent underage teams over recent years and has always been a bit of a sleeping giant in that regard. No guarantee of where it'll go from here, but I've always felt there is plenty of potential there in Cork, they just need to harness it.

Anyone heard anything from Galway, is Comer out for the year?

Hamstring injury off the bone he's out until 2021. John Daly their first choice CHB is out with ACL injury.

Will be a more competitive Galway v Mayo game than the recent league game but Mayo like today should win by a few points to spare. Kerry out really opens it up for another All-Ireland final appearance for Mayo, won't be the same without supporters though.

We will need to tidy up on the shooting, alot of bad wides yesterday. Didn't matter as never really were in danger of loosing but can't afford to be that inaccurate against Galway.

Agree totally. Cork have got more clubs than Connacht. Theyve a huge playing population.Kerry were poor but Cork will improve again. Still youd be an optimist to think Cork would perform like Kerry can in Croker.
Mayo would be a team Cork normally dont go great against.

Not really accurate. We had a terrible spell between 89 and 02 where we lost a final, two semis and a quarter but the three matches since then we’ve beaten them. We’ve also beaten them in two U-21 finals in that time

In 2014 we were seemingly in control but ended up crawling over the line, same thing down in Limerick in 2017.

We did not make it easy for ourselves on either occasion.

Lots of positivity post our defeat of Roscommon and Kerry's unexpected loss but sometimes I feel it's my duty to deflate the balloon somewhat.Bit of a grim reaper so to speak.:D

Watched the dubs play Westmeath on Saturday night and although the latter were no great shakes.Dublin were excellent and their accuracy ratio in truly awful conditions was off the scale and obviously well ahead of ours yesterday.

So Dublin are raging hot favourites and very likely All Ireland winners.

Hoping we will remain very competitive in the what's left of the competitive and wee Donegal do all comers a massive favour if as I expect they win Ulster.

I don't see anyone laying a glove on them this year, being brutally honest. I don't think Kerry even would have if they'd come through yesterday.

I watched the Dubs against Meath and they seemed to give away an awful lot of frees on the outskirts of the scoring area. Maybe it was just the game that was in it, but encouraging to see Cillian on form nonetheless. He owes them a couple!

Probably right!! All logic would suggest this is the case. But I like the thought of a Donegal Dublin semi final in December in torrential rain!

I'm not normally over-optimistic. But I cannot see Galway sticking with Mayo on Sunday.
Not a lot has changed in a month except Mayo have had more decent game time under their belt against Tyrone, Leitrim and Roscommon. Galway have had very little.
Comer is still out and that's a big blow for Galway.
A positive for Galway is that Shane Walsh is back, but one man won't bridge the gap on where both teams are at.
A big issue for Galway will be who picks up Aidan O'Shea. Sean Andy didn't earn himself any accolades in the last match. Can't see him starting at full back. Might need to coak Kieran Fitzgerald out of retirement.

yes that's correct but Galway didn't get into the game at all. They were stone cold and got done for some basic marking up errors with runners. I cannot see that happening again so this will be alot tighter. They will be gunning for us after the league game and with a winner takes all, the stakes are high so it focuses the head.
