Barrett did a nice job on the Kerry lad. Just one point from a free was it?

Excellent play holding onto the ball with a point at the end of it. Exactly what you should be doing when 7 up

The two best things about this for me are
    1. Horan has attempted at some kind of defensive game plan AND used AOS correctly in both halves
    2. Our fitness /intensity levels

Strangling the life out of this, great to see

    Fantastic field by Flynn there

Intensity is very high today, very tuned in.

Dessie hasn’t noticed Loftus hasn’t been in midfield since HT

How is this lad on the telly

Even Mrs Green&Red was wondering “who is this eijit?”

Yep, seeing it out very clinically

And we are not talking about kickouts
    Good times

The issue is still there I'm afraid. They let us have most of them throughout the match, anytime there was pressure, we struggled.

A thoroughly enjoyable game. Still some issues on kickouts but happy enough overall. Should have put it to bed in the first half but had a lot of wides.

Pity we didn't give them more of a hammering on the scoreboard. Talk about going out on a whimper.

Can we not just enjoy today :D

It’s overall very encouraging that issue aside
Happy with what Horan did today more than anything else

    Absolutely let's savor it.

Should have won by a lot more.

Roscommon press or pressure wasn't there today at all so wasn't an issue.

That was a good win, pretty solid throughout. Gave them very few opportunities for a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭Bunny Colvin

That was as comfortable as we could have hoped for. We were solid without having to move up the gears.

Cillian really looking sharp and seems full of confidence. Huge plus for us.

The new lads haven't let us down yet and fair play to Horan for sticking with them, absolutely the right call.

The off licences will do a roaring trade next Sunday. It'll be a Connacht Final like no other!

Real "phoned in" stuff throughout, although he's easier on the ears than Cora.

    Just about.

Well there you go... despite Colm O'Rourke's comments this year's championship is wide open...

Mayo great price at 13/2 but hard to look past Dublin or Donegal this year. let them off,the good is gone out of it this year ,no fans and pubs won't even be open to celebrate.

He could barely conceal how sickened he was by that ending. Terrific drama. Delighted for Cork. Everyone wrote them off but they often have something in the tank for Kerry and it felt like a win like this was coming for them eventually. Nice to see how much it meant to them. Great young lad who spoke afterwards.

League champions of 3 divisions knocked out now. Knock out is some craic.

I thought Kevin Mc underlined how invaluable a player he is today. You just can't buy his game intelligence and in general the quality of his footpassing is second to none. The standout footballer in the club championship outside of Aidan O Shea.

As has been mentioned before in spite of his undoubted brilliance Oisin Mullins ( he reminds me so much of Keith Higgins ) needs to tighten up defensively.Donie Smith gave him some awkward moments.

Paddy Durcan is now flagbearer offensively in that half backline. Not doing anything he was not doing previously but he is now carrying that mantle proudly. He was excellent today outside one poor wide.

I thought Leeroy was a lot better today.Context is everything.

Roscommon were poor but nonetheless were the reigning Connacht champions.

A Connacht title would be nice.

Our greatest rivals stand in our way, thirsting for revenge.Walsh and Comer's availability will be key.Hard to believe Comer's hamstring will be right?A relatively ring rusty but fresh Galway team versus a battle hardened,on a high Mayo team with weary limbs.

There's a lot less between the counties than that league game demonstrated.

The thirst for a Connacht title after a relatively long absence in a historical context most especially where there is no backdoor is powerful motivation.

    It's there for the taking.

Cant complain about today. Well done lads. Great to hit the opposition hard from the start and build a cushion. We did ease off in the 2nd half so something to work on.

That cork result is also ideal. It’s got me thinking.

Assuming we beat Galway anyone know how the semis are lined up. Would be great to get cork / Tipp and let Dublin and Donegal fight it out on the other end. That could be the differentiator, we normally come from a tough semi won in an epic fashion so a little cocky in the final and blow it. Would be nice to cruise to the final and leave the best performance of the year for Dublin / Donegal. I think we can be more than a match for them.

It could be our year! Mayo for Sam. Biden for the White House

On the assumption we beat Galway ( far from guaranteed ) ,we will face the Munster champions. As a Mayo fan I presumed you'd know same.

There will be no cruising past same.

I have no idea how you think we get the impression we are ever over confident entering an All Ireland final given our track record but I'm going to give you the rather large benefit of the doubt.

Anyone heard anything from Galway, is Comer out for the year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,198 ✭✭✭PressRun

Genuinely think Connacht is the only thing really on James Horan's agenda this year tbh. Anything past Connacht is bonus territory with the squad being where it is right now. And anyone who watched Cork today and thinks they'll be some kind of pushover is deluded frankly.

No but his hamstring injury was only a matter of weeks ago and looked pretty serious?
