Had a quick look at ign and they gave the Pulse headset a 9

Haven't had time to read through reviews yet but is there any mention how long the DS5 takes to charge? Hoping with USB-C, it's a lot quicker than before. IGN said they had to charge it every 2nd day but didn't mind it seeing how good the controller was.

    That is actually disappointing :(

Yeah, it is. I would have hoped From would deliver a patch, especially as a modder has got one working already!

The Digital Foundry video is very good and packed with details on the back compatibility.

Looks like Sony have done quite a good job and it'll be interesting to see how people who have only played games at 30FPS feel about a game they replay at 60FPS. I bet they'll really see why some many people rave about higher FPS.

I did note that some of the games on PS5 were running at lower resolution than on the Series X but again that looks to be done to hit the 60FPS target which is great news.

I don't think anyone is going to be disappointed with the console but personally I just wish it wasn't as mad looking. I'll have it hidden away though so won't matter.

Yea definitely want to play it at 60FPS with no frame pacing issues. One of my favorite games of last gen.

Days Gone released a patch for the boost. I wonder if From are waiting for launch to not impact on Demons Souls pre-order. People might put it off if Bloodborne gets a much requested boost.

The DF video has me more excited for Tsushima now. I held off so I could play it for the first time on PS5 and they say the enhancements have 'transformed' it.

I'm not sure From have any particular investment in Demon's Souls since they're not developing it - would be a Sony call, perhaps, to hold off. Maybe it's just on the way and didn't make launch for whatever reason.

It seems in general it's newer games that are getting patches, so could just be there's no major financial incentive to go back and boost Bloodborne and older games. Which would be a shame. Also traditionally I think From haven't really been that concerned about performance to the same extent as some of those that play their games.

Or, perhaps, there's a Bloodborne remastered coming - which would be amazing (especially if there's a PC version too), although less so if a 'simple' (I say simple knowing significant work is involved) patch could do a similar job.

Yeah, I thought From would still be taking in sales from money and Bluepoint were already paid, that was my thinking anyway, not sure how Bluepoint work in that regards.

I would murder for a BB patch too, but in 4 years they never patched it for the PS4 Pro so there was no reason to expect any different now.

Extra kick in the teeth is that Dark Souls 3 now runs at a locked 60 FPS

Now that is something that I have wanted for a while, nice

I cannot wait to play Sekiro again at 60fps!!

Loading time comparison between XSX and PS5. Seems XSX is slightly faster for all games shown.

The controller has under 4 hours battery life in Astros Playroom. Yikes
    7 hours in other games

Yea apparently on unoptimised BC games the XSX is better able to brute force the saves. I would expect parity in next gen titles.

Jesus christ that is awful. Surely it can't be right or the reviewer got a faulty unit?

I bet there's a few of us here who'd play for more than seven hours straight if we had an opportunity?

Surely the ps5 will be faster as they have the faster SSD?

Yeah, I am shocked. It's coming from an Italian site

"However, a slightly lower autonomy than that of the DualShock 4 must be taken into account. With Astro's Playroom, a title that deliberately amplifies the sensations triggered by DualSense and also makes extensive use of the integrated microphone, it remains under four hours of use, while with other products the seven hours of play are more easily reached."

    https://www.everyeye.it/articoli/recensione-playstation-5-console-next-gen-sony-prova-50831.html

    Edit -

Some are saying 10-13 hours with most games. Another Italian site is saying 2 hours (!) in Astrobot. Lets wait for some proper testing

I have seen numbers all over the place about the battery, I'll hold out on complaining until I see some proper tests.

Running unoptimised BC titles isn't just about the speed of the drive, the rest of the hardware comes into it too and clearly the XSX is natively better at this.

I mean the PS5 should load games faster long term once games utilise the SSD.

It should for next gen titles

XBOX have done a lot of workl on backwards cap and it shows on this.

Not that either load time is to be laughed at

Yes this will likely be the case
    bennyl10 wrote: »

I only had a quick glance but as far as I can tell this is just confirming their games are backwards compatible yes? We did essentially know this, at least for PS5 anyway as their games didn't appear in the incompatible list

Would be nice if they gave a 60fps option for red dead 2 or gta 5 but seems like they're going the release route premium next gen GTA online...

PS5 games can't be installed on external drives.

    https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/1324736322129567744

667GB of usable space on the PS5. That's gonna get used up pretty quick :(

Astros playroom is designed to show off the controller so every part of the level will use the dual sense to its limits. Most games won’t do this, so the battery will last a lot longer playing MM or FIFA.

    That's just stupid from Sony.

I was talking about the 7 hour limit not the 4 hours in Astro.

The expandable storage thing seems like something that could come after launch like on PS4 at least. But yeah, bit dumb that it can't be done from the get go.
