And in fairness it worked perfectly. I know RTE will always find the craziest Trump fans to interview but they had a Cuban/American lady on last night saying she voted for Trump because she truly believed that a Biden win would mean communism and socialism. She said something along the lines of: 'we know what a socialist country is like and we don't want to have that in Florida.

Joe Biden never denounced the prominent socialists supporting him in his party. Some of you betray yourselves making out everyone you disagree with and whole racial groups could only be mind-controlled to vote for Trump or even against Biden

How can you compare the two when Trump claimed victory 36 hours ago?

I suspect that if can solve the mystery as to why anyone would vote for trump, you will find your answer.

You telling me Biden isn't going to blame Trump for it all going pear shaped on him.

If Biden looses? No I don't think he will come out and blame Trump by name.
I think he will give a nod to people's democratic rights and express disappointment. But I don't think he will come out with blame.

Trump on the other hand.. he will blames everyone except himself.

    Let's see..

You don't denounce people in your party when your trying to lose an election. That's idiot talk.

Are you claiming that trump didn't run ads in Portuguese and Spanish in Miami dade saying biden was Fidel Castro?

Did they? Most quotes from Biden's side I've seen have said they expect to be declared the winners when all the votes are counted, or they're confident they'll win etc, but not that they actually have won.

Yep, Bob Bauer said explicitly "we’ve won the election and we’re going to defend that election" in a live briefing last night

If Biden does win, Trump's eventual concession speech will be one for the ages.

There wont be a concession speech, Trump is going to spend the next four years ranting and raving that the election was stolen. I dont expect Trump to show up to Bidens inauguration either, his ego wouldnt be able to handle it.
Bored of all this now, anything decent on Netflix?

After some soul searching, I think I should admit that I didn't denounce them either.

If you want the votes of people who don't like socialism, yes you might want to denounce socialists in your own party.

Me thinks the US will face a constitutional crisis. Not a chance Trump will concede.

Anybody think its ironic that some who critisized Trump for claiming victory "early" are now claiming Biden has won despite counting still ongoing?

No, because Donald Trump is the President of the United States. All of the others saying that are not the President of the United States and can speculate without consequences. You can act as dense as you like with posts like this, but the majority of people see right through it

You telling me Biden isn't going to blame Trump for it all going pear shaped on him.

I think it's fine to blame a previous administration for the way they have handled things, which is a list far too long to go through here.

It is however totally wrong to make up lies with no basis of truth and creating a dangerous conspiracy theory about the election being stolen.

Any word on that cash out? Been fairly quiet about it

Yes. He would actually try to be a statesman and not bitterly point the finger at everyone else when things go wrong, or post tweets about media outlets which dare criticise him.

Why would he have to denounce them? Biden isn’t a socialist. Democrats like some forms of socialism (in regards to healthcare/ kids school meals etc), but you can implement these things without going full-blown socialist.

It wasn't completely wrong to call Arizona. Any news outlet is perfectly within their right to call a state if they judge the race there to be won. It's not an official binding declaration. It can't influence the vote as the votes have already been cast. It's just more pettiness from Trump that he's getting worked up over what AP says. He needn't even care because all that really matters to him is the official tally.

I disagree. It was wrong to call it when they did, even if it ends up going the way they declared it. It's inconsistent with what is happening in other races they aren't calling and as the largest conservative news outlet, guess what's happened since? Conservatives have ran out to the count centre in Phoenix chanting 'count the votes' as they believe that every vote should be counted and the maths showed that there were way more ballots outstanding than the margin between the candidates and the mail in's hadn't started yet. The race also narrowed multiple times today.

    It was too early.

You can imagine melania sitting next to obama and having a great old time. She always seems to be a much happier person when she is seated next to Barack.

Yeah, I can picture Trump on inauguration day leading a massive rally of his supporters as nearby as legally allowed.

Does his failure to actually concede matter? I assumed the vote on electoral colleges determined it ultimately. Raving loon removed from office feels like how it'll go at this stage.

Trump wasn't exactly quick to denounce certain groups of his supporters. Yet you still have people arguing here he's not racist so if were using that logic what says Biden would be pushing socialism?

It's definitely not shoddy. Have you a source for " good Russian money" gone in to Trumps Doonbeg Hotel?

A media declaration has no bearing on the actual outcome of a vote count in any state. Bizarre to be getting upset over it.

This 1000%. It's nonsensical. It's getting upset about something that has no bearing whatsoever on the result. All of the votes would still be counted regardless of what AP says, and Trump has also taken issue with the votes being counted. The New York Times gave Trump a high percentage of winning Georgia on Tuesday night, now he's in a serious battle there. Why? Because the votes were still being counted. It doesn't fit Trump's narrative so he says whatever he wants. I'm not surprised with that, it's expected, but the amount of people who fall for this type of nonsense is baffling.

@ 8-10. "stats were that 68% of Pennsylvania mail-in requests were Democratic".

soo confused here; how can they know they were Democrat voters? if it is by 'areas'? [even by 'poorer' areas]; then were these areas bought by the Democrats.

I know how stoopid that sounds, as it is politics; but it seems an oddly previous carving-up of the turf.
