I wouldn't let these people into a polling station. They're not coming in to peacefully observe. They'd want to personally inspect ballots, confiscate or burn ones they thought looked in any way suspicious without any due process (with suspicious ones bearing the mark [x] Biden/Harris), physically harass the staff and interfere with the machines.

Anybody think its ironic that some who critisized Trump for claiming victory "early" are now claiming Biden has won despite counting still ongoing?

No. One claim is based on reality. The other was an egotistical brainfart.

I remember you! You were gloating when it looked like Trump was going to win, that was yesterday morning or something wasn't it?

How can you compare the two when Trump claimed victory 36 hours ago?

Poor question TBF, you didn't think it out fully, did you?

Yes, though there's a lot more intelligence around the projections in Biden's favour at this point when you look at what's outstanding.

If you could go back in time it's actually playing out precisely as expected in terms of how the different counting methods swing states so you could actually have done pretty well if you backed and layed each candidate at the different points before the election, after first 12 hours of the count, and then right now, without actually knowing who will eventually wins!

Depending on what happens in Georgia, he might be about to finish this.

Not really comparing apples with apples there. If Biden was the one who claimed victory then it would be a comparison to be made. Supporters of Biden claiming victory is a different thing entirely and is not done to undermine the democratic process.

I think most are viewing it as likely for Biden to win. Biden has not claimed victory so what posters are saying is a tad irrelevant. Meanwhile Trump has claimed he's won states that he was nowhere near winning. The motivation is also a pretty dire effort to corrupt the election. Trump is supposed to be a statesman, the rest of us are not. Meanwhile Biden behaves as one.

Just finished rewatching Spaced. It's fukcin quality.

Made me a wee bit maudlin and nostalgic in places though.

My Mum said something similar yesterday, I had to remind her she lives in a country where you need a reasonable excuse to leave your house.

But your mum probably does understand there is a pandemic, right?

Biden's lawyer did come out and declare victory last night though.

And Trump was completely right to be annoyed about AP calling Arizona. That was completely wrong to do and Fox have been too stubborn and needed to retract that before now.

She sounds far more sensible than the resident numbers manipulator

Why does that wannabe weekend warrior need his big gun for? Whats he gonna do with it? What does he think is going to happen that he needs to stand there posing with his gun?

If Biden does win, Trump's eventual concession speech will be one for the ages.

Assuming he actually does concede. It's actually difficult to picture him saying those words.

For good reason right now, can't be compared to what Cubans were fleeing. Joe Biden also can't be compared to what the Cubans were fleeing, Trump just got inside their heads and played off their fear.

A media declaration has no bearing on the actual outcome of a vote count in any state. Bizarre to be getting upset over it.

Did they? Most quotes from Biden's side I've seen have said they expect to be declared the winners when all the votes are counted, or they're confident they'll win etc, but not that they actually have won.

It wasn't completely wrong to call Arizona. Any news outlet is perfectly within their right to call a state if they judge the race there to be won. It's not an official binding declaration. It can't influence the vote as the votes have already been cast. It's just more pettiness from Trump that he's getting worked up over what AP says. He needn't even care because all that really matters to him is the official tally.

You telling me Biden isn't going to blame Trump for it all going pear shaped on him.
