This thread is now an impossibly tedious read for the more casual visitor to this forum. Same few bald men going around fighting over a comb.

You're a card carrying FG member who admits voting for them in more than one polling station in the same election John.

    Casual visitor indeed. :D

The handwaving away that has taken place since this began a week ago has been particularly entertaining I have to say.

No more entertaining than the torch Weilding mob standing in the rain

    This is getting embarrassing now.

    Talk about clutching at straws?

I would be saving your energy for the next outrage, don't wear yourselves out. There is still another 4 years of guttersniping before the next GE.

The big reveals this afternoon were that it is still trending on McMurphy's Twitter Account and the Irish Times reported on Question Time in the Dail, following a tradition of the Irish Times reporting on Question Time in the Dail for decades.

Leo really in trouble with these continuing revelations.

At this time every day the Dail has questions, there is a story about what was asked. Nothing unusual in that.

So there were questions asked in the Dáil about it today? 2 days after LV made his statement... and still questions, questions, questions.

Gosh. For a non-story that has gone away it seems very much like it is still unfolding.

Irish Times, and RTE, and Irish Examiner, and Irish Independent...

It is amusing how many people need to pop into a thread about a non-story to tell everyone it's a non-story pay no attentions to a few national newspapers and State television reporting on some questions asked in the Dail today.

Nothing to see here. It's dead in the water. No-one cares.
Look - TRUMP! and something something SF are bad m'kay.

I doubt it will last 4 years. 2 possibly.

They have only had 131 days thus far and we've had more controversies than a full government term :D

FFG rolling out the red carpet for the opposition parties to make huge gains in next GE.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

So far, seems like the classic lead up to a resignation.

Some superb predictions in this thread that were way off the beam.

Thanks for that. I just googled trending Twitter Ireland and came up with the two links I posted.

Google Leo Varadker and you'll get a better idea
You can even restrict the search to 'news'.

My twitter feed, for some reason, only tells me what's trending in the UK so I look elsewhere.

You googled what was trending on Twitter rather than going to Twitter?

If anyone was ever left with any doubt that you know the square root of nothing about twitter or how it works, they just need to read this post. :D

Thanks. I googled rather than see what was trending on my Twitter account in order to get the bigger picture.

Two stories coming up on Drivetime about it shortly for anyone interested. Those that think it is over...not need to take head out of sand.

Slightly more plausible than Leo's tale tbf.

I hope it's OK to ask you this Johnny, and I am not being in any way uncivil, but any idea where I could get one of them combs

Looking goosed on the deleting records accusation. Another apology or does this require a sanction?
It would be interesting to know WHEN he deleted.

    Exceptions
    13. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. extended loss of ICT systems, national emergency or
where a civil servant has no access to his/her organisation issued email account or service), it
may be necessary to use a private email account or other private messaging service to
conduct official government business. Resulting correspondence must be forwarded to the
civil servant’s organisation issued email account
and be deleted from the private account.

If Leo can't reproduce his texts is he breaching this policy which applies to all work done on behalf of a government organisation (Dept of Health)?

Cue defense of " A member of the Oireachtas is not a civil servant ergo this does not apply to them".

I think Leo will survive this. He just has to hope no evidence emerges of him leaking other documents. He won't be going off on any solo runs anymore. I'd say some Fianna Fail members were happy to get an opportunity to rein Leo in.

Very entertaining to see how many people were predicting that this was the end of Varadkar. The end of this government. A massive scandal. Basing the levels of outrage on their own online twitter bubble where people spend their days retweeting cranks Mick Caul and Paddy Cosgrave.

Big smile on my face reading this thread watching the initial glee now turn to anger as your dreams were dashed and the world moves on. :)

I forgot to add all the desperate "The village have more to come...they're drip feeding us.... There's a bigger scandal to come...." Very funny stuff.

Apart from McSharry today, I cant think of any FF TDs calling it for what it is, a fairy tale.

No anger here at all dude. Brand Leo is damaged and the FF lads can now rein in his nonsense for giving their support. Simon C. eyeing the Taoiseach's office when the mime artist from Cork is done.
Leo's arrogance has given this government badly needed stability.
