Does Biden at worst coming very close in Arizona/Nevada and Georgia/North Carolina signal a tectonic shift in American politics? Not a massive one, but enough to require the Republicans to reposition significantly if they are to regain the White House as the trends that took these states for the Dems or very near are only going to continue?

Republicans will respond with even more gerrymandering and voter suppression. They will try and do it via the courts and any other method they can manage.

Republicans are afraid of voters, that is why they make it so hard to people to vote.

Is this the correct timeline folks?

By 6pm today we will likely know the result in Georgia and by midnight we will know where Pennsylvania is likely to swing.

Should Trump win both then we have a further day of anxiety ahead of us as we await Nevada and Arizona to be called on Friday?

Should Biden win either of PA or GA today then it's done

Essentially we have maybe 4 flips of the coin ahead of us and Trump has to win all

They're not coin tosses though. Biden is favourite in them all: slight in Georgia, strong in Arizona and overwhelming in the other two.

Wouldn't that be what the democratic party did to Bernie in 2016.

It's the ads that are the killer. They're so so long.

Much more ads today than they had yesterday, but they need more filler today as there isn't much to talk about yet and not really had many new numbers coming in until the last hour or so when a trickle have begun coming in from PA.

Would McCain have dropped as many bombs as Obama? Given his history in Vietnam, I'm not sure which way he would have went.

    Yes , yes he would.

How so? HC got more votes than Bernie did in the primaries

How are these American pundits and commentators staying up for three days straight, they say democracy is under threat in the States but if the devotion of the media is anything to go by they are doing just fine

Doesn't really matter though because they were just speculating, there's a difference.

i have to say though, states should be able to get a final count in 24 hours, mail in or not. Florida and a few other states managed it. this waiting 3 days for a state to get a result in just adds to the chaos and division.

Biden doing really well in PA. Expectation is he'll win PA by at least a margin of 100,000 in the end. Vast majority of vote going to Biden there.

    I dont think so.

This was a Trump or no Trump election. If the Republicans learn lessons from what has happened, and run a less divisive option, with the policies that appealed then they will do very well.

Lets not forget both candidates have got more votes then any other candidates EVER!

Florida have been counting for weeks.

Other states were not allowed - 7am election day is when they can start, thanks to Republican legislators.

It's part of the suppression tactic.

So looking like Arizona win for Trump and Pennsylvania win for Biden?

Does Pennsylvania alone put Biden across the line?

61,000 votes to be counted in georgia, from heavily dem areas. Biden only needs 18000 ish of those. it's over there.

Florida's laws meant they could start counting votes right away, including mail-in votes before election day. Other states laws mean they can't start counting until polling closes. Plus the timeframes of when mail-in votes have to be received by.

Basically, states freedoms means they all decide to do their own stuff without consistency or regard to what other states do, because BBQ/Beer/Freedom

Yes it does. Trump more or less needs everything else.

No, he needs 18000 more than Trump, so he needs about 40,000 of the votes remaining.

There is a difference between saying "We think X will happen" and "They are cheating".

    One is OK, one isn't.
