So why not have the presidential election as popular vote? States still get an equal voice in congress. Each person gets an equal vote in the presidential election.

Coz that would leave small States with little/no voice in deciding who should be POTUS. Again, that's how it was set up when the US was created. By all means, get it changed, by a Constitutional Amendment, but I'd see that as a no-hoper under the rules of the Constitution.

America is meant to be #1 in everything according to trumpists, why are comparing the US to what Trump would probably refer to as "****hole l" counties?

Why also then are you not comparing to South Korea or Germany or hell even Ireland?

The kind of thing that Trump has been coming out with re:Covid wouldn't be stood for if it came out of Micheal Martin or Boris Johnson. If Michael Martin got up and said we'd had so many deaths per million from Covid, but hey at least we're not France, he'd be lambasted. Constant equivocation from a leader essentially means they can at least attempt to sidestep all culpability for their own situation.

He would still have his base and provided he isn't in jail would have 4 years to shout from the sidelines.

Nothing legally to stop him no.

A Nebraska Constitution Amendment to remove Slavery as a punishment for Crime won by 68.16% to 31.84%. Who are these 31% who think this is still ok????

Perfectly normal to demand electoral scrutiny in a close race.

    Moved on a little further

    Trump 2,388,026 (+355)
    Biden 2,306,532 (+6469)

    Huge ratio there toward Biden.

95% complete , so about 250k left to count if I'm working this out right.

A roughly 2/3rds Ratio for Biden would win it and he's been doing better than that in the last few updates.

I just had a look at that, to my surprise 6 rural counties changed from red to blue in the last hour, I did not build that into my tracker I was assuming the rural counties mail in would fall the same way as the in person, they are not the are coming in 10 to 1 in favour of Biden. Biden now looking like 30k win in Georgia if the mail in breaks down the same way in other rural areas.

Nope and it's even been done successfully once before: Grover Cleveland in 1884 & 1892 (having lost in 1888)

    Sky calling wisconsin for Biden

Although that's gonna be contested by Trump.

    So , just checking.

The threshold for being able to call for a recount in Wisconsin is 1%.

Biden currently leads by 0.6% with votes still to come. If he breaks the 1% threshold not sure there's a lot Trump can do.

Michigan is a bit more complex - According to Ballotpedia

    The Rules are
A candidate can request a recount if all of the following conditions are met:
    1. The candidate ran for one of the following offices: president and vice president, state executive (e.g., governor), U.S. Senate, U.S. House, circuit judges, or state senators and state representatives elected from districts that span more than one county
    2. The request "alleges that the candidate is aggrieved on account of fraud or mistake in the canvass of the votes"
    3. The request "shall contain specific allegations of wrongdoing only if evidence of that wrongdoing is available to the petitioner. If evidence of wrongdoing is not available, the petitioner is only required to allege fraud or a mistake in the petition without further specification."
    4. The request "sets forth as nearly as possible the nature and character of the fraud or mistakes alleged and the counties, cities, or townships and the precincts in which they exist."
    5. The request "specifies the counties, cities, townships, and precincts in which the recount is requested."

So , not very easy to get a recount and would look to be almost impossible to get a Statewide recount as you have to specify issues at each county level at a minimum.

Biden currently leads in Michigan by 0.7%

What's going on with Pennsylvania? It's been stuck on 80 percent counted for the last few hours it seems.

I think if he doesn't get 1% he can use the "voter fraud" claim/ clause to get a recount

Arizona is still a concern despite Fox and AP calling it. That could blow this thing wide open yet.

If Pennsylvania and Michigan go Biden's way then Arizona won't matter...

Ironically the Democrats were the "party of slavery".

When the Civil War was lost, Southern Democrats founded the Ku Klux Klan to lynch Republicans and freed black people.

Michican is pretry certain at this point for Biden but Pennsylvania is the key, if Biden can manage to flip it in his favour this contest is done without a doubt as thats one of the big catches.

Ironic indeed that the repubs are now the party of slavery.... Lincoln must be rolling in his grave.

ffs not this again, the party switched political spheres/base in the 1960s, that democrat party is basically became todays republican party

Looking very much like a Net Zero gain in the Senate for the Democrats or at best a +1

Up two - Kelly and Hickenlooper , but lost Doug Jones in Alabama and Peters in Michigan is currently 23k behind - He might catch up though , but cutting it fine.

Trump went from 48.9 up to 49.1 for me and then back on two different sites for michigan, anyone else notice that?

Pennslyania most recent batch of votes (103,366) fell 78% Biden 22% Trump, About 900k to 1 million left and if they fall in same proportion Biden wins by 130,000. If Georgia goes the way I urban and the last update of rural votes has gone that is 320k-35k win for Biden too, Trump is getting North Carolina.

    Another update

    Trump - 2,390,030 (+2004)
    Biden - 2,312,014 (+5482)

Biden maintaining that required 2/3rds take rate , still technically showing 95% complete.

It could end up an inverse of 2016 in terms of EC count.

Trump on 214 , with NC and AK in his column , taking him to 232 , Clintons 2016 Total

Biden on 248 with MI,PA,NV and GA in his column taking him to a potential 306..

    Interesting indeed..

One things for sure; if it wasn't already obvious across the American cultural landscape, the electoral map sbows the Urban-Rural divide is alive, well and as entrenched as ever. With all the liberal-conservative gulf that implies. Obviously a winner takes all election hides the subtleties within demographics, counties and so on, but on a national levels things seems as partisan as ever.

NV, PA and GA potentially, networks might not call them, but it should be pretty obvious to us watching. PA is probably the biggest prize for Biden as he slowly overturns Trump's in-person vote lead!

I would agree. It looks like it pretty much all comes down to Pennsylvania at this point and by the sounds of things it may even be tomorrow before we know the outcome.
