De promo is more often a fishing rod dipped in the stream of listenership to try and land an unseen salmon coming up river dat will serve de show some knowledge so to speak.
More often than not its just a few sprats when the line is drawn in or maybe the odd pike

    Plenty of cod.

Today's promo was just that. Pure clibkbait. Going on about "Leakgate" or whatever handle he put on it. He wouldn't/couldn't touch it with a bargepole. Too many loose cannons out there today.

I suppose someone will be along soon to tell us that it's "Mostly angry middle aged white men"

None of today's guests rang in between the promo and the show. We were promised the bus driver last week. The porn addict didn't just ring in. That was prepared and probably pre-recorded. I turned it off as I couldn't listen to that voice distorter while I was driving.

As for Alan Hughes. FFS. I missed the very end but according to the thread it was good. Will have a listen in the morning.

Just turned on playback and it seems the "porn addict" is getting another spin and so is Mark the brilliant brilliant brilliant bus driver.

The sprightly 100 year old year great-grandmother Margaret Lynch from Walkinstown, who featured on Liveline and de lockdown telly, has died. Joe will likely "dedicate" a good portion of tomorrow's show to her memory, asking the same questions over and over again, playing Sonny Knowles hits, pomes and endless clips of the lady, lovely as she was. But be prepared.

She was only a girl her whole life ahead of her

De covaa wurtled be terrible crutle

Once again people, Joe Duffy thinks that this is deserving of 300K from the taxpayers in a time of supposed COVID crisis.

This is probably the last step in everybody losing their f**king minds.

Camper dan Derek Mooney's "byeeeeeeee" crossed with wan a Mr. Duffy's campest sign-off's so to speak as they say.

Would you believe this... Brendan O'Caddle is a Member of the same club as ButtersSuki.

Ah FFS. What is it? Go on, tell me.

Will the researchers be drastically trying to contact an Irish bar in Vienna today or will RTE turn a blind eye to this story and instead we will have Siofra from Dalkey and Mickey from Doonbeg trying to persuade us to vote for Biden or Trump in todays election.

“When you’ve nothing to do, why not try something new?"

Why not spend time doing some (better) research & pre-production for de Liveline? Feck knows you're paid well enough for it.

There is no pre-production on Liveline. Or very minimal. Like setting up the voice changer for John "I'm addicted to Prawns" or Delia who used to go by the name Dave.

They never realise it's a bad line until they are on talking with Joe so they don't check that before hand. Nor remind people to turn off their radios.

Mr. Duffy is doing the state some service by highlighting this story. I honestly haven't heard anyone talking about anything but this today.....

Liveline. The voice of the common man, the ordinary man on the street, the small guy.

Which is why today's show will be chock a block of Joe's celeb mates such as Sammy Sausage, Coco Duffy, Twink and assorted Billie Barry Kids will take calls from Joe to scab some more free money.

They are still performing live, albeit remotely. So I guess that they'll get nothing :)

Incidentally the Symphony Orchestra will be no longer RTE employees come January.

Oh so they are getting full pay for working remotely. Fair play to them - I wonder they get those essential worker permits for their cars?

I assume if they are no longer RTE employees that some other semi state company will be responsible for employing them as they wouldn't get work/pay in the private sector.

They're being taken on by the NCH. Can't speak for their cars, sorry, but I am sure that those cello's and trombones don't move around by Drone :)
