Brian Krebs has an item on a security breach at https://www.finastra.com which was originally posted yesterday.

Finastra seems to be deeply connected into many bank’s IT systems, providing SWIFT interface, STP, card payment solutions, cash and treasury management, various cloud solutions etc to banking industry.

In the article feedback there is talk of a trojan (trojan worm) backdoor on finastra.com mail exchangers (since Sep 2019), and mention of bank account access problems.

I haven’t tried to make any payment transactions to test the systems I use so far. SEPA Instant Credit transfers (SICTs) probably operate over the SWIFT platform, as do regular SCT and SDD.

So much for the reliability of living off debit and credit cards, especially in the current environment with COVID19 lurking in the background of many bank computer centres… The user-feedback to the article is worth reading too...
