I would LOVE if the Scottish man sues Alan Hughes after that, and Mr. Duffy for not correcting it when confronted on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,374 ✭✭✭washiskin

Well, Duffy got the drama he was looking for and no mistake.
There was a very quick break earlier and I thought there was a bit of panic in his voice..... Robert E. Kelly must have been snappin on the phone.

Duffy definitely not being biased towards his theatre pal there
    No, not at all.
No clash at all to explain.
    All above board.
    NOTHING TO SEE

    An AD BREAK at 3pm??!!!

    Are you new here?

That clown Hughes caught out big time

Duffy terrified at whatever legal threats the Scottish guy made to him

And wouldn’t make Hughes apologise directly which is what he should have done

Well ladies and gentlemen, it's 3pm. That's Duffy's Circus finished for today.

Not that I had much respect for Alan Hughes before, but after that performance he's lost what little I had.

What a spineless creature he is

    A prediction.

RTE will miraculously satisfy the needs of the nation and have a panto on telly this year.

Well there you have it, Alan Hughes lying straight out to the man's face and COMPLETELY unchecked by Mr. Duffy.

Wonder how long it takes for my tweet to be deleted.

Scottish guy should sue. He might do better than Johnny Depp.

I'd say de Scottish lad will have a wee dram of whisky tonight. at 3.03 pm he received a lovely call from a libel lawyer who persuaded him to have taken grave offense at the show and legal writ shall thus follow

That was up there with another drama queen Row-wee Cowan refusing to apologise to the woman he called "a vile creature".

Hughes was very happy to bitch away about the Scot until the Scot came on then denied saying he said what he said on more than one occasion. Hope he gets sued.

"We're all on the same side" says Alan Hughes.

"Oh No You're Not" screams the audience.

Hughes spent a lot of time earlier in the show making allegations about the Scottish producer and said things along the lines of (and I'm paraphrasing: here, this is not verbatim)
He's a Scottish producer, he doesn't even live here, he comes over for a few weeks and doesn't pay any Irish taxes or spend his money here the other 12months of the year.
And he said this or words to that effect a few times. His tone was very disparaging too.

So the Scot obviously gets calls telling him what Hughes is saying and comes on to refute this and says:
I produce plays all over Ireland all year round. I pay my taxes in Ireland. Why bring my race into it?

Hughes then said that he only said that the Scot lived in Scotland, giving the impression he said nothing else. And Mr. Duffy didn't "check" him on this.

Alan Hughes, man of the people:

    https://www.rsvplive.ie/news/celebs/ireland-ams-alan-hughes-gives-22577803

    From August this year!

The lack of basic cop on and lack of any sort of shame or introspection from this fella showing off his "pad" a few months ago in some rag and now out with the begging bowl. Fook off. Tone-deaf doesn't do it justice.

Another great man o de peeple.

The neck of him especially given he didn't pay his taxes on the pantos he has done...

Anudder fact ignored by Mr. Duffy who will likely of course of course claim he wasn't aware of this - nor were the team of producers of course of course. And Mr. Hughes conveniently forgot this fact when presenting his case.

    This is serious complaint material.

From reading back I am gutted I had to take a call at half 2 and missed the pantomime craic. Needless to say it's not on the player yet but (scrolling) fingers crossed.

Yep, maybe being previously non-compliant with Revenue sort of might put a block on any free money for Sammy Sausages?
You'd think Duffy, notwithstanding being in yer man's panto in 2018, could've donned his public interest cravat and asked him that.

I've dashed off a quick email to Robert including that link. His lawyer, ahem, I mean he might be interested.
