Great start to the show today. I was listening at a viewing point outside Mullaghmore.

    The waves crashing
    Joe getting a tongue lashing

I'm available to read a pome at 14.59 any afternoon.

Well one thing you can bet your ass on is you're going to pay for that GOLD today.

I'm going to start an off the top of my head list of people Mr. Duffy has been rude to (please feel free to add to it):

I think I can simplify that list for you Butters - who has Mr. Duffy been rude to??

He has been rude to just about every caller that has differing opinion to him.

I have a big problem with Duffy seemingly misinterpreting a lack of BAI complaints for people believing that he is an objective and professional broadcaster, when it is representative of nothing of the sort. People are usually too busy and just say to themselves "what an ignorant man", but they don't download the documents from the BAI website and spend hours on a complaint that will be unlikely to get anywhere.

It is an unfair representation of Liveline to describe it as "caller driven" or any objective talkshow. It is a completely subjective show, where the topics are dictated by the host and researchers, carefully choosing topics that they themselves want to cover. The presenter is effectively the most dominant opinion on the show by the way he challenges people with differing opinions, while allowing free rein for those who agree with him. That's fine if it's good for the ratings, and if that's the type of broadcasting that RTE want to engage in. But you can't then make videos about how RTE is the fountain of truth and balance. Because there is no balance on Liveline.

As someone who has written complaints about the host to the BAI, I can assure you that it is a lengthy and cumbersome process.

As for RTE complaints, I have a lot of experience of those, and they most certainly are a waste of time. You will get a standard letter promising that your complaint will be discussed by management, but no further reply or follow up will be forthcoming. I’ve posted the standard reply more than once on here.

We had the comical situation once here where a poster got a reply but the person sending it also copied some correspondence intended for a colleague re. complaints. Needless to say they were basically just laughing at it/us.

De not-exhaustive list of peeple dat Mr. Duffy has been rude to and dat:

Cllr. Seamus Trainor ("Don't you be givin' me any of yer auld guff")
    Sean Deegan (Retired Immigration Officer)
Michael O'Leary (on more than one occasion)
Fr. Brian McKevitt (editor of Alive! Magazine)
Blind Boy ("can you speak wit yer real voyis?")
    Prof. Michael Barry
Police Commissioner Aloysio Falcao (De Rio Garda,"it's nodda croyme in Ireland"
Chris Fogarty, Sculptor ("is everybody in America Chris" x 1,000)

Also, and I include these as even if you disagree completely with their thinking they don't deserve to be treated rudely by the supposedly impartial host who's not allowed to give his opinion......:
    Many Trump supporters
    Many IRA/Republican supporters

    And:
The countless number of callers who were told to hang on until after the break only never to be heard from again......

Please quote and add to de list when you tink of anudder person dat he has been rude to. TYFYS.

De Pandemic duz be a blessing for Noel Kelly, never have de rags been so desperate for news of any sort that he can now get “Aoibhín Garrihy’s Top Tips for nappy rash” and “Lottie Ryan’s amazing journey to ikea” articles published across it seems every red top, the indo and all social media platforms on a daily basis. Hence why Tubs, D’Arcy and Mr. Duffy are in the news so much lately.

I didn’t read this latest Mr. Duffy piece - did he slip in how he can be let go at any minute and he has lost all his money twice on investments?

The investments must have been in airline industry or live entertainment industry or both.
