Taxi tax to private.

I was looking at an ex taxi which is taxed until march next year, I'm assuming that if I buy it now I'll need to retax it straight away as private right?

best way would be to fill our the rf111 form and send it off with the log book, you will need to tax it at the same time to change to private,
I didnt do it this way but in hindsight it would save a lot of time and back and forth with shannon
