SuperValu have Roe & Co for €30 - never tried it, worth a dabble? Also has anybody tried the Jameson cold brew? For an extra tenner I might just get a bottle of crested instead
Or get Created for €25 in Tesco.

    Definitely worth a punt.

I describe it as the whiskey I'd like to hate, bust just can't. It's an everyday whiskey, inoffensive, accessible and for that price, very much worth it.

Redbreast 12 or Powers John Lane.

The Johns Lane has done nothing for me twice when I've had it, I just don't get it I suppose

Any idea if its the box or bottles that they engrave on the Midleton?

The bottles. I know because one was ordered for me earlier this year, but it arrived not engraved, so I had to send pictures back to Celtic Whiskey Shop to get a refund for the purchaser.

In fairness to them, they had it sorted in literally 20 minutes, with no drama.

Absolutely adore the John's Lane. Would choose it over RB 12 every time! (Not that there's anything wrong with RB 12 either.)

10 x Midleton Very Rare 2018: Reduced Price €130 Each

That's €100 saving over the price of the 2018, according to their website.

Where do Hinch source their liquid from? Just reading up on them and realise their distillery is just getting off the ground.

    Isle of Arran tasting €28.50

Our next tasting pack from Celtic Whiskey — bespoke, virtual tastings which will be available over zoom/packaged at the Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder.

Hows it works? Buy > pack gets delivered > join us for a zoom tasting!

    What's in the pack? 5 x 30ml

Arran where amongst the first of the new wave of modern Scottish distilleries. It was built at a time when confidence was just returning to the industry (1993) and it's first spirit flowed in 1995. The style of whisky made is surprisingly soft for an Island whisky, with a malty, smooth and lightly peated character. More warehousing has been added recently and they use a large range of cask types, but mainly ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. All their whiskies are un-coloured and un-chilfiltered. This Tasting Pack includes samples of Arran Quater Cask, Arran 18 & 21 Year Olds, Arran Amarone Cask and Arran Sauternes Cask.

Zoom tasting will take place on Wednesday 18th of November at 8pm with David Ferguson from Arran, and co-hosted by our whiskey specialists Luke from the Celtic Whiskey Bar.

Why do I suspect that what you are doing isn't strictly legal?
Where did this whisky come from?

I probably wouldn't be posting about it, publicly.

Don't live in the homeland anymore. Where I live this is standard.

Bottles and only on the base so barely noticeable.

I managed to pick up a 2018 there. Just had "Congratulations" on it. Definitely worth ignoring for that saving. Eesh.

Cheers for the heads up lads.

It was always going to happen when they flooded the market with so much of it! UK stores are starting to discount their whiskey already. Not a good sign!

Surprised to see the MVR 2018 get such a price though, and the DC32 hit a new record too.

Who is paying 250-300 for these ? just seen the previous auction results.

I potentially have access to 3 of these at regular pricing, wonder is it worth my while trying to flog 2 ?

Anyone with an iota of knowledge of the market knows MVR is rock solid at 170 euro give or take 5/10 euro all day long .Not a good one to try price inflation on .

They are sending me a replacement. It was the cigar malt missing. I should have said it was the 25 year old seeing as it's a grand a bottle!

I think Dingle doesn’t belong on that list, but the rest of them I’ve no interest in buying, tasting or Even looking at.
It's a list of distilleries with geographical names, of course they belong there.
It illustrates how geographical names are more common than the alternative.

If you have only got eyes for Dingle or other select few, then happy days.

Half the enjoyment of whiskey for me is trying different types. I also think there is much more to a whiskey than when and where the new make was distilled. It's a factor obviously, but not the only one.

Sold 5 bottles of Scotch to a bar tonight: 2 x 1ltr of Ardbeg 10 , 1x 70cl of Talisker 10, & 2 70cl of Laphroaig 10 - made enough profit to buy 1ltr of Ardbeg 10 and still have a wee bit of cash in the pocket. So delighted to say I'm drinking Ardbeg 10 for the first time in 7 months!! Yeeeooo

Really confused as to how you sold whisky to a bar, and turned a profit.

Spot on IMHO and far better than Jameson Black Barrel at the same/similar price.

I'd guess they bought the bottles in duty free.
An Irish bar would get in a fair bit of trouble if caught selling duty free spirits.

Powers 3 Swallow. As it's rare to see it at that price I think and it is a big step up from Powers Gold.

Black barrel has a lot of fans here but I prefer crested or Caskmates Stout.

For that price in Tesco you can also get Chivas 12 which is a superior Scotch to Glenlivet Founders.
The Glenlivet Founders isn't a patch on the 'real' Glenlivet 12 imo.
