i worked with a guy who was there during the iran - iraq war, he had finally sorted out payment for the project and when he went down to the ministry for payment the next day, the building it had been hit by a missile

My dad worked abroad til I was about 15ish.
Madness tbh, he worked in some looper places.
He was in one place where there was a coup...then another where they had to leave as there was a huge volcanic eruption on the island.
