Universal handicap

    Our club has just received our new universal handicaps and the vast majority of members are going up by at least 2 shots, when we checked the calculations we found our new handicaps had been been formulated using our green tees as oppose to the white tees from which all our competitions are played ( other than a few off blue tees) resulting in the wrong handicaps been issued. has any other M&H committee come across anything similar ?

    So far not for men. But women in our club have their scores on a set of tees that don't exist (imported). We've emailed the support link given in the email and they're checking into it. Are your white tees a higher or lower slope rating than your greens?

    White tees are higher - 72.3 green tees are 70. We worked out the calculations using a dip sample of member scores against the white tees slope index. The result reduce the increases across the board. We believe our calculations are an accurate reflection of members handicaps. For info, my club is in the Ulster region.

    Yeah, thought so. Just email them and point out the error. They're very quick to respond. I think a lot of the problems are down to the interface between GolfNet and the club software. I'm not sure GolfNet picked up stuff like tee markers when taking in scores from clubs.
