A bulb blew in my bathroom and it was broken at the metal piece. So was the last one when i changed it before.i wondered could it be too strong. it was 240v 100 watt clear glass type

The new one i put is 230v is that OK. It is one of the globe covers that screw on similar to https://www.hardwareireland.ie/product/Literon-Bathroom-Globe-Light-60w-or-100w-2097/
230v is the voltage and the vast majority of these lights are 230.
What you want to be looking at is the wattage, so what wattage was the new bulb you put in 60W, 100W?
Generally if the bulb is blowing clean off then it is too hot so the wattage too high. If you want a bright light but less heat then try an LED.
