Great review, Mark. It ticks no boxes for me, but as a former Honda fanboy (owned a BB4 Prelude, EK9 Civic and DC2 Integra), I really really love this car :D

I think Honda got their market all wrong, if it was Golf sized it would appeal to so much more people with only a little less performance. Love the spec of it inside though, really premium features.

That was a great watch. Talk about smitten!

I was lucky enough to see it in the flesh over at the Tokyo motor show last year. Fell straight in love with it. More importantly, herself was the same. Easy sell as a second car.

Suddenly I like it again, especially in Pearl Black - maybe it's the fact it has a glass roof section as standard (must be the old convertible driver in my, but without any EV convertible I'm a sucker for sunroofs).

152bhp, rear wheel drive - also appealing but still the price and lack of range....hmm

A possibility if I move on to try something different from i3, but I'll have to test drive it to see exactly how it compares

A lot smaller than the i3, I will say that.

Couldn't see it in the darkness of the particular shot, but is the power outlet 3-pin for Irish/UK markets?

Seems to have, it's in one of the photos in below review

    Yes, as standard. Handy.

Other prior reviews have described the touchscreen experience as laggy/glitchy.

This review suggests those were pre-production issues. That would be great.

    Perfect second car.

Hand on heart, not a glitch even once. Spoke to someone in Honda HQ (you could argue they would say that) who has driven one for quite a while and said he hasn't seen one single error.

It's beautiful, love the tech and size but just too expensive for what it is.
Just looks like a pop around city car for someone with loads of cash so price irrelevant.

Good luck to anyone getting one though, looking forward to seeing one in the flesh but for me a used Leaf a more efficient/practical use of funds.

That interior looks brilliant, but why oh why did they put a 20/30 years old design climate controls/adjustments set up in it???

Surely it could have been controlled on one of the many screens??

It looks like a CB bolted on underneath the dash.... totally takes away from the futuristic look in my opinion..

Personally I prefer nobs and switches for climate controls, I'm not a huge fan of screens and touch sensitive buttons for things I will change whilst driving. I guess each to their own though :D

There is a growing opinion that buttons are far superior interface for something you want to be looking at for the shortest time possible. That moving frequently used controls to touch screen is a bad idea.

Many will disagree. But maybe thats why they didn't do it.

This is why they didn't do it I would say. Having such things as knobs and faders is a safety issue. Same with lights. Be daft to move them to some UI.

That being said, the dash is a glorious looking thing.

Did they do it for a retro vibe?, I mean the steering wheel is screaming 1970's (apart from the buttons)

Front reminds me of The Iron Giant

Is there a manual rear view mirror in it? Not sure if it was the video but the steering wheel looks massive. It’s definitely something different.

Manual in the 29,995 version, camera version in the 32,995.

I agree with anything that needs adjusting while driving should be physical knobs and buttons rather then touch screens. For the past 20 odd years, within a month of owning a car, I could change the volume or station on my radio or turn up or down the heat without my eyes leaving the road. I just reach out my left hand and I know where everything is by touch.

    This too shall pass.

I have to say, that car looks excellent. Haven’t been taken as much with an overall design in years. The dash and the mix of controls is particularly brilliant.

That can be done by the steering wheel controls on many cars now stays too. Tesla for example.

Doesn't get a great Car Wow review, and he was really trying to like it.
Boils down to being very pricey, and having low range compared to cheaper competition

I normally like watching the carwow reviews (or mainly drag races) but this one he seemed to be more annoyed that he had to test it early in the morning in London than actually review the car like he normally does, pity.

Can't wait to use the grill setting :pac:

If I could justify dropping 30k on another car that I don’t need, I’d be considering buying one of these based solely on the design and interior.

TBH, if it wasn’t COVID times then I’d prob be test driving one just to see how bendy herself’s arm is.

Anyone know if these are available to test drive yet?

So you can operate it all by feel, without taking your eyes off the road at all.

Nearly sure Honda told me November. Obviously that may have changed with Level 5 but contactless test drives are a thing now for a lot of brands so it's worth asking.
