Put the heaters on but no open fires yet.

Lit the stove (normally an evening event) about midday just to cheer me up from the poxy weather outside :(

Came in from working in the polytunnel, lit the stove and had a shower.

    Basking in the warmth now.

    It’s nice.

But it is new so a bit of a novelty.

    Yeah she is lit

I believe some of these newer homes have no fireplaces

Separating a man from fire is not a good thing for the soul

I setup my heating when I moved in 7 years ago. Haven't touched it since then, don't miss messing around all the time with turf/coal/oil/etc.

Fire ripping away here all day. Rest of the house feels baltic in comparison.

Lit the stove about a week ago and the range a few days later. That means a lovely dry heat in the kitchen that you can't beat with any other form of heating and that cats back in cat heaven a sleep on the dry washing in front of the range.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Billy Joel says he didn't start the fire, so I blame Keith Flint (God rest his soul).

Imagine how Johnny Cash feels with his Ring of Fire.

    Range?

As close to the first of October as the weather warrants.

Set on the 1st, lit on the 2nd.

That's it until the same ritual at the end of March in the opposite direction.
