Only the ref can really answer that. If he blew the whistle immediately after save and before the rebound, then its game over. Itd cause some commotion either way

Yeah that is what I was thinking,i know the chances of a penalty being awarded after the final whistle will be very rare but i was just wondering is it up to the discretion of the ref or is there a set rule like in a penalty shootout

For once after about 30 years of watching football, I now understand clearly what handball is.

I came to post just this. I don’t see any logic in this at all. Language and new league aside, is there even much precedence for players being made captain on their debut for their new club?!

I could be making this up, but I remember a midfielder who signed for Sunderland called Cana who came straight in as a captain

    here's hoping.

Why would hope for their relegation?
They’ve been punching well above their weight for years and Dyche has done a great job with them.

Off the top of my head, the only time I remember it happening before is in Dream Team back on Sky in the 2000s.

Also, I fancy Leeds to get a result today at SHU, Egan will be a loss. Wolves should win too.

Has there been loads of penos handed out in Spain, Germany, Italy etc with this new handball crap?

Real Madrid got one yesterday that probably wouldn't have been given pre VAR even if the ref had seen it. It looked like there was an offside before that too, but I'm not sure if they checked that.

Certainly seems english referees don't understand how to interpret the 'unnatural position' part of the law. unless the hand is attached to the side then they think its unnatural. they have no clue really God bless them.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

How many players do Leeds need to have with Man buns?

I often wonder how they can't tell "this is stupid!" just by looking in a mirror

Found him, Lorik Cana signed for Sunderland in 2009 and straight away Steve Bruce handed him the captaincy.

I remember seeing him lead out Sunderland and I had no idea who he was, so googled him and found out he had just signed for them. So it was burnt into my memory as something bizarre

I thought Bamford was shyte at finishing.

Some start to the season for him.

Sheffield Utd miss two of the easiest chances you’ll see this season and Leeds now capitalise

I was about to say this was one of the best 0-0 games I'd seen in ages, and then Bamford popped up. Great match for a neutral, that.

No pressure now. In a weird way it has to be easier to be in the Premier League in terms of pressure right now for Leeds than the expectation, anticipation, desire to get promoted. Must be a great time for them right now.

Because not once have i seen them be involved in an actual half decent game, when have you ever seen the fixtures for the day and say to yourself jesus, i cant wait for the burnley game(when the team you support isnt involved). They are basically what stoke were now, and dont tell me you didnt want stoke and that wind tunnel of stadium to be relegated. Dyche has done a great job no doubt about it, but from a pure footballing standpoint i cant wait for them to go back to obscurity in the lower leagues again.

my days of being fast are behind me now, the furious part is definitely only getting stronger though :D im of course being harsh on burnley and if true that they'd be in serious financial trouble if they went down i wouldnt like to see them go out of business or anything, just not be in the prem would be nice.

While I do agree with a lot of what you say, I do enjoy having them and the odd team like them in the league. It offers a different challenge to teams. You know what you are getting in that game. They'll bloody plenty of noses of the top teams too. Like Stoke did, like Bolton did and like more teams will do in the future. That said, I certainly don't like watching them.

The league is better having teams like Burnley in it and not be full of team's who will attempt to play nice football but ultimately have no real grit or fight to their team and end up rolled over by every other team in the division. For example, Huddersfield, Fulham & Norwich recently. Burnley are a better addition to the league than those clubs at the time.

I'm not saying they should be going out to play like peps barca every game, but a little bit of excitement every now and then wouldnt kill them would it :D, i agree with your post and dis agree with it, the league does need those teams, but leeds(so far) are showing you can play with grit and fight while still playing a relatively easy on the eye style of football and so far very decent games to watch, sheffield united last year also, while not always amazing to watch either. Plus its not like burnley are west ham/newcastle that seem to be in a relegation battle every single year, so i can give them some credit for that, this year however i feel they could be in trouble and i wont miss them if they go down.
