In fairness, who doesn't love a good stat.

I read that 78% of people love stats!

Unfortunately 94.6% of stats are made up on the spot.

The podcasts for the Sean Moncrieff Show on Newstalk has a section about people talking about what they think Christmas will be like this year for them during the pandemic. Warning it's not overly cheery......

I do know Christmas can be lonely and sad for some people but some people simply don't like it and will use any excuse to justify it.

I'm terrified we'll be locked down. I've only missed one Christmas at home and that was 2010 during the bad snow. It still breaks my heart that I wasn't there. I live about 150 miles from my parents so in the event of any county lockdown I could be screwed.

Christmas is what we all make it, and it means different things to different people. My mother hates it, so much so that my kids call her Granny Grinchmas.
I love it, even if I had no money, I’d still feel the spirit of it. It’s all about family for me too, and of course the little ones, it’s a magic and a special time and feeling for me that no pandemic or bah humbug can dampen.

The Cadbury's Sleigh - I googled it and it says available from Cadbury Gifts Direct but are items like that usually available in Irish supermarkets too? I love buying presents but I find the food shopping, cooking and cleaning parts (and some of the socialising parts) stressful enough, but reading posts here and on the previous forum is actually making me get excited - I think my positivity beacon is being lit!

reckon ill get the tubes of sweets they sell in dealz and the likes, I always over buy sweets but they don't go to waste :D:D

If the pubs stay open for xmas time then pre booking would be essential even if your out for a quite 1 or 2

In my experience most of the stuff on the Cadbury website generally appears in the larger supermarkets here. The main exception is the those big selection boxes they do.
Last year Cadbury had a chocolate house and that appeared in supermarkets here.

It's mad to think it feels like we wait soooo long for double figures in the countdown and then all of a sudden this Sunday we are into the 80's in the countdown.

The 80s! That seems to have just crept upon us.

All Hallowe'en lights and decorations are now Half price in Home Store & More

    https://www.homestoreandmore.ie/page/content?fid=halloween-2020-landing

They don't seem to have reduced their range of products this year, although I haven't been into one of their shops yet to see if they have the usual big display.

That pic of the santas behind the lady working made me laugh, my in-laws have a dancing santa thats got the exact same face as these, so it must have come from the same mould & factory most likely. Even thinking of it makes me laugh as it used to scare the twins if someone stood on the sensor and made it dance & sing... as they ot older they warmed to it however to the extent they'd never give it a chance & would have it singing & dancing constantly. It always started with 'Its the most wonderful time of the year' so was a big favourite of mine.
