Retrofit reversing sensors

Hi all, the wife is getting a nearly new Nissan. We agreed that they’d fit reversing sensors as part of the sale. They’ll be colour coded and will look like factory fitted from the outside but they won’t be linked to the car’s computer. Will they be, I’m not sure how to say cheap and nasty or will they be grand?! Thanks

Had aftermarket on a car before, basically they came in to play when reverse gear was engaged, there was no head unit to show colour coding of how close you were getting, it just beeped more steady until you hit. If it was me I wouldn't bother with them on a Micra, a large saloon car possibly.

What model of nissan?
On a big car they are very useful. if the car is big geting a reversing cameria would be usefull too.

Regardless of the size of the car, they can be very useful.
What you’re describing is how reversing sensors used to be like a few years ago. Where you just get beeps instead of info on the screen/camera and beeps - perfectly ok.

I fitted aftermarket sensors to mine.
They are grand. They give an audible beep, but no visible feedback. These were the low profile sensors, so you could not tell them apart on the bumper from the OEM. Similarly, even though they are not linked to the cars electronics, as they are just give audio beeps, that doesn't matter.

So I would guess that they are giving you something similar.

Thanks all. Have the car now (Micra), sensors actually working a treat, glad we went ahead. Super little car the new Micra, early days but so far good. She’s traded down from a Focus but it really doesn’t feel like a ‘small’ car in comparison

Cars get bigger and better packaged, which actually makes them decent value all things considered.
