Ref doesn't understand the new rule?

Is the rule anytime it touches your hand, a peno?

Some things are unpredictable and other things, like Newcastle being under pressure, backs to the wall and Jonjoe Shelvey gets a needless yellow card are entirely predictable.

Thought that's what I heard them discussing last week anyway. But handball is only below the sleeve line now.

Only in the build-up to a goal, no?

they seem to have removed being too close, if that was ever a thing

Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm:

directly from the player’s own head or body (including the foot)
directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close (ok I just saw it now and really don't get the Utd decision)
if the hand/arm is close to the body and does not make the body unnaturally bigger
when a player falls and the hand/arm is between the body and the ground to support the body, but not extended laterally or vertically away from the body

Chelsea let Lamptey go for only £3M? Looks like a great player.

Not sure who wins this game. Could be a goal fest.

Either team wins could be challenging Everton for the title. :pac:

In all seriousness I'm thinking 2-3 Liverpool

What a stupid decision to drag him down there, especially in that manner. Keeper probably had it too.

Not sure of my thoughts on the red, looks like Mane might have got a touch was he not brought down

    Blatant Red

Don't think this game is going to keep up the high scoring of pl games so far this season

No don't think so, mane was flicking it past him. Stopped a definite goal.

Yeah has to be. Zero attempt to play the ball. Deliberate and had he not done so it was a clear goalscoring opportunity as Mané was already goalside

Will be disappointing if Liverpool fail to win from here but Chelsea are very well organised.

Am I right in saying if that was in the box it's just a yellow? As it's considered double penalizing? With that rule change a year or two ago?

That's my take on it, yes, just a yellow in the box.

I think that's applies to a goalkeeper when it's not a professional foul

So they can still attempt a stretching save in 1-on-1 situation and a foul is a yellow as it was a genuine attempt.

Happy to be corrected but that was my recollection

I think it would still have been red in that instance as there was no attempt to play the ball. Unsure if that's still the case though

Glad to see none of us have a clue and it's not just me :pac:

Henderson might be injured but tactically it will work out a lot better having Thiago v 10 men Chelsea

How bad is Kepa? He needs to leave Chelsea to rebuild his career.

They'd be lucky to get £10m for him now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

At least Everton don't have the worst keeper in the league now.

Top of the table and second worse keeper in the league.... Everything is coming up Everton :pac:

It's tough at the top :pac:

Although with the GD Liverpool could get here we could be 2nd. We've bottled it.

Kepa has to go down not only as one of the biggest flops but as one of the worst goalkeepers the premier league has ever seen.

Just so so bad week in week out. Poor Willy on the bench :p

Kante is not good enough to play further up the pitch.

Fabi has been excellent at CB today

Jan 2018 he nearly signs for Real Madrid for €17m which was his release clause at the time, before signing a new one for €80m

Real then sign Courtois for ~€30m from Chelsea who then have to pay €80m for Kepa

Worst deal in the history of deals, maybe ever
