Suddenly people care about people being milkshaked because they like the person.

    My shock.

I don't have any opinion on your politicians. It's still a disgraceful thing to do.

If someone did it to Trump I may well have an emotional reaction to it which would differ but I'd still fully and reasonably expect the person to be prosecuted and it would still be a disgraceful thing to do, which accomplishes nothing.

Absolutely nonsensical, a complete disgrace. What is happening to the standard of discourse in this country?

She walked into it. Went looking for trouble
Leo was just standing there preparing to do an interview .

    Leo>Homeless matrix lady

She went looking for trouble by standing on the street peacefully?

She must have got the idea from the cop show The Shield.
This is what the Coffee-Bandit did.

How do you know they weren’t just filming our minister for vanity??
My spidey senses are tingling...... far too convenient.

You have a point. The videographer may have had knowledge of premeditation. It's also equally reasonable to assume they were just recording because "what's Leo doing in the park" etc.

It's disgraceful behaviour don't get me wrong but the same people outraged by this are the same who were either laughing or ignorant when the same happened to Tommy Robinson, Farage, Justin Barrett and Rowan Croft.

I think we’re all in agreement here.

There does seem to be a more radical bunch of nutjob wasters floating about lately. Time for security to be stepped up I think.

This is the lefts idea of progress. When all else fails turn to violence.

What a pathetic, cowardly thing to do. I hope this person is caught and charged.

Far left and far right are best ignored.

Only oddballs and losers are attracted to extreme politics.

This is the lefts idea of progress. When all else fails turn to violence.

Funny how nobody called it 'violence' when Michael Noonan got a pie in his face, or when John Prescott was hit with an egg at close range (which, in fairness, probably hurt), or when Ian Paisley hurled a snowball at Jack Lynch. Throwing harmless objects at people in power has always been a legitimate form of protest.

Yep, like 99.9% of normal people, I completely condemn this sh1t.
It has been used by extreme activists (only apparently 'on the left' though it pains me to say that) over the last few years, 'milkshaking' and lauded by armchair ars*holes.

Nobody should be terrorised by having stuff in which they don't know what it is, being flung over you or into your face.
    And it is terrorising

Who the fck do these fckurs think they are?

    Left, Right, Rainbow, whatever.

Is this really where we're going as a society? Having different political views means you're a target to be assaulted?

Honestly this sort of polar opinion politics and nonsense that accompanies it has to stop at some point.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,496 ✭✭✭irishgrover

    Great point actually

I have far more of a problem with someone assaulting a mainstream politician versus asulting a fascist or racist.
Leo might be incompetant and an insult to your politics, but he does not directly or indirectly support or encourage violence against minorities
    Call me 2 faced.

    ....

Just after happening this afternoon, can see this going viral. Apparently the girl is a People Before Profit activist.

Even other left wingers are calling this disgraceful.

    ...

Where People before Profit are concerned I'm not surprised at all, despicable stuff and I don't support this Government at all.
Even worse if she is from Saoradh, I suspect the Gardaí will be even more focused on this. Not a good look for Dissident Republicans/NIRA front to get so close to Tanaiste and assault him.

Let's get the details before we go blaming FF or the Greens...

It was bang out of order, if it was hot. Not something I condone but it's hardly a new phenomena.

    Disgruntled lone wolf?

I think there is a cohort of nutjobs that spend most of their days eating up nonsense on FB instead of actually bettering themselves or making a real difference. Seems that are being fed a loop of absolute **** that is turning them bat**** insane.

Nah seen loads on social media saying he deserved it because of the homeless.

That's the level we're dealing with.

Don’t be a c*nt to someone is a good philosophy in life.

If you do it for pathetic, attention seeking purposes- you get extra points on the c*nt scale.

If you have a skateboard, on top of the above, you should probably be put down

    You really don't like skateboards.
