They were told with the conditions the workers live in, are brought to work and how they are on top of each other in work that they should not suspend them.

    Another **** up

Soooo, the government are responsible for how workers live? What about personal responsibility?

How, if testing was suspended long term, did they find people positive?

It’s up to each and every one of us to ensure our own safety and well-being. Are we so immature that we cannot think for ourselves?

They have made a mess of whole thing

Waterford no cases for weeks, now upon opening up,with fcuk all support...we are on brink of a lockdown....and 28 cases in a meat plant and its let open all week

They are to blame for this mess, noone else

Soooo. The Irish government are responsible for Covid. Shaggers.

They are responsible that the meat factory wasn't forced to shut.

Tonight Show is good. They are trying to understand the government communications disaster. Roisin Shortall doing well. The opposition
must be starting to pity the government at this point. They are being handed votes too easy with almost weekly screw ups.
Some talk about a FF parliamentary party meeting where Cough Donnelly and MM are blaming the media for the poor communications ;)
It was a live press conference you muppets!! :D The disastrous Q&A was live too!!

You'd have to wonder if Donnelly faked the cough to escape the onslaught.

    Cowboys Ted.

This is what it amounts too....absolute arrogance anyone worried or speak out about this absolute bollocks of a situation is to be sniggered at

No one is sniggering. Just can’t understand why the idea of personal responsibility is being ignored. We’re told by posters here that testing wasn’t taking place, yet we are being informed by the same posters of numerous positives! Someone is telling porkies.

So following on from your comments. The government were the ones discovered the cluster in the meat plant...allowed it orperate regardless and only admitted it due to a journo breaking the story?

We know Donnelly is incapable anyway.

We cannot rely on private business to put whats best for society above their profits. Something FG either won't learn or couldn't give two ****s about. FF? written off years ago. Greens? Expected better.

No the government are not to blame. Unless they drove down and injected covid into people in Waterford or anywhere in Ireland. I expect they haven’t so if an out break is happening in any part of the country that’s because people are not following the guidelines

If people are too stupid to follow guidelines then no hope for them. Doesn’t make a difference who is in government

    Do you understand?

But if the Shinners fail to observe social distancing at a funeral...shock horror 'they are responsible for the spread of covid'. Yes...you are responsible for the spread if you knowingly **** up.

They ****ed up with meat plants - why? Incompetence? Vested interests? You decide.

The Govt knew about the cases, They never forced the factory to close until inspections, cleaning took place.

You can defend them all you want but they failed here.

No because they have a plan in schools that seems to be working so far.

Your just looking to cause an argument now.

Back to the previous questions about meat plants, do you not agree the Govt when they knew cases had come from the Meat Plant should have made sure it was dealt with ASAP cause you can bet your life if it was a pub it would have Gardaí on premises as soon as cases were known

They were dealt with. Deep cleaning and new work practices. But, as the principal of the school said, personal responsibility has to come in to play.

Dublin will be at Level 3 by the weekend which makes the midweek press conference look like a complete joke.

More dithering and capitulating to vested interests.
A child could see what needed to be done in Dublin, but apparently their economic viability is more important than the economic viability of the rest of the country.

They were actually afraid to do the right thing. It's a concern. A government more afraid of optics than anything else.

Dublin had to be softened up first. Shambles.

    Coalition of Chaos.

How can someone express personal responsibility if they don't have the finances to stay off work sick due to barely legal work practices? And as with keelings are we sure that they're not staying in the companies shared accommodation?

In that case, personal responsibility would dictate that they leave that employment. People will be abused only if they allow it.

As regards shared accommodation, this is from the Oireachtas website 70% lived in rented family accommodation. 28% live with coworkers and 3 shared a room with a coworker. It also found that the majority of workers were employed directly by the employer. The problem regarding shared accommodation, terms and conditions are contract workers and it’s only right that their situations are addressed. Regarding sick pay, very few employers in the private sector pay sick pay.

I can’t seem to copy and paste text or a link from this machine, so Google will get it for you.

    I’m not defending the government

I am saying people need to take some personal responsibility.

Dublin will now be 3.5, 3 and a bit or even - 4

This 1 to 5 stages is really working out

One of the NPHET guys (Nolan?) on radio this morning saying the 25 limit on indoor gatherings under stage 3 wasn't stringent enough

When i read about that Berlin boozer and saw the video and how nothing was going to be done I figured something was up. It seems NPHET gave recommendations yet meat plant crawling with Covid were allowed continue with business as usual too. It smacks of cronyism IMO.

So far you have failed to blame anyone but the government

What you are looking for is a government who have control of every person in the country and nobody can do anything without approval from the government

That’s called a dictatorship, can we agree that nobody wants that to happen? No matter which party is in control
