"The straight is, uh, very long." Is that dread or resignation I hear in his voice?

Is this track worse for Ferrari again , It has one long long straight , a bunch of high speed corners . Their Car is Draggy ,has Terrible down force and is slow in the corners .

Mugello is probably one of the best bike racing circuits in the world just cant see it working for F1 unfortunatly, will be cool to see them racing there all the same.

If Bernie was around he'd probably slip Ferrari a "special" set of tyres a la Williams in Barcelona a few years back.

In 2012 you mean. It's more than a few years back and nearly a few few years back.

Remember it well, including the convenient fire in the garage after the race.

It was the weekend of Frank Williams 70th birthday and rumour at the time was Bernie gave them special sets of tires as a birthday present.

Leclerc's car seems to be working will today ....Maybe wrecking it fixed something . P3 at the moment in FP1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,316 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

Leclerc currently P2 in FP1 vs seb in P17.. now in fairness they are on different tires and probably different practice programs but still that's a fair delta.

Ah they are all Sand Bagging , Kimi just popped up in third & Giovinazzi in Fourth ( on softs , but still ) , Ferrari must have been give a boost for the "1000th" Gp , if haas appear in the top 10 something is really wrong.

Wonder if ferrari have been given a one race allowance to use last year's engine!

There is no past data for Mugello for other teams to work with, while Ferrari own the track, can test their road cars there, and have tested previous year's F1 cars there. All teams will obviously have gathered as much data as possible in preparation, but for FP1 at least Ferrari probably have a little advantage when it comes to prior knowledge of the nature of the asphalt, every bump and camber etc.

I expect they'll tumble down the order by the time we get to qualifying as other teams get their setup in place.

Albons head must be gone, a seconds off Verstappen, and behind the two Alpha Tauri cars. I can't see him being there next year.

There's something very F1 2020 about celebrating Ferrari's 1000th race by painting a Mercedes red.

Red Flagged , Perez came out of the pitlane with Kimi on a flying lap and Clipped him in the first run, Not bad impact just some front wing damage on Perez . Kimi Spun round .
