That is interesting. Apparently some people just dont spread it as efficiently as others.

I think Philip nolans tweet thread from last week explains it quote]

Excellent I’m bad at being a spreader :) that is interesting though as none in work got it after me and no one I know either.

I’d love to know how I got it though... but must move on ... into a hellish winter if can I go to work schools fir kids etc.., My Mam is so sad At the thought of not seeing grandkids again etc...

25% of people booked for a test fail to turn up! "Sure I'll be grand"

Tested yesterday. Just got the result text 10 minutes ago. However my test was part of the HSE retesting of nursing homes staff so that could be why the quick turnaround

Simply infuriates me. Are they lying to their employers/schools etc so?

My children were in a lot of contact with someone who then showed symptoms (more like a head cold tbh though) and that person was sent for test.

I explained this to work and their schools and my work and both schools told us stay away until the persons result is back. It might seem over cautious but I couldn’t bear to have to tell people after If test is positive And that we now had to be tested . My children are disgusted they are missing school so soon. But What can we do.

Not only that, but they're delaying testing for someone else, having a knock on effect on the whole process. That's a huge percentage.

My child got tested Monday morning, results came back yesterday afternoon(Thursday), thankfully negative. In my opinion that's too long a wait. We had to take time off work and a hospital appointment had to be cancelled. 2 others I know of in my location had their tests done on Monday afternoon and received results Tuesday evening.

I requested a test back in mid March and was showing symptoms after returning to Ireland hastily before all the flights ended for 3-4 months. Anyway I was refused a test as they deemed my symptoms to not be bad enough and my next step would have been hospitalization if I worsened. I may or may not have had Covid19 I will never know. I spent around 3 weeks in total isolation quarantine in my families older semi derelict old home-place. I had did this coming straight from Dublin airport following health advice and for the sake of my elderly parents.

If I had covid then it was not too bad, it was the worst sore throat of my life, with severe malaise, muscle aches in my thighs and pain swallowing, as if I had swallowed cut glass or something. I self medicated with over the counter medicine from Brazil which is actually banned in Ireland, I was better within 10 days. I had both Swine Flu and Avian flu in the past and both were far worse than whatever I had in March.

I used the mybio Covid antibody test this afternoon as we were all at home.
I had Covid in March. I wasn’t in hospital but I was terribly sick.
Neither my husband or children ever showed any symptoms. While I did stay in my room all the time they did pop in and out and I Couldn’t I stayed 100% away from them. But none of us left house got shopping in etc.

I was convinced they had to have had it too.

But only I showed a positive result for an antibody. I showed positive for IgG antibody. Which apparently indicates ‘a secondary SARS COV 2 infection.’

The other 3 were totally negative.

Baffling. As I don’t know where I got it and initially I still cooked etc for them.

Anybody care to explain the difference between primary and secondary Covid infection?
    Google ain’t telling me much.

Well I think after looking a bit more is that the igg antibody is what remains after infection and the igm antibody is the first responder.

So indicating IGM on the test means you are currently infected and indicating IGG means you were infected.

Disclaimer : I could be wrong.

Yes I read similar and that it’s the IgG that suggests possible immunity

Received my Daughter’s result negative thankfully, after getting tested on Tuesday. I’m waiting to be tested rang up on Wednesday morning.

Really doubt I have it but have not worked since Tuesday but can’t take a risk would feel guilty if I went into work and infected my work mates.

My son was tested on Thursday, do people get results over the weekend or just working days?

My wife’s friend rang gp for her daughter Thursday morning, tested before noon and got negative results 4pm yesterday. I think it depends if you are sampled early enough to get samples to the lab that day to guarantee results the next day. From what has been said on here results keep coming all weekend.

My sister was referred for a test yesterday morning at half 9, got tested in Dunmanway at 2.05pm! Doubt there's many places around the country that you'd get a test as quickly. Still waiting for her result but should know by this time tomorrow at the latest.

Does anyone know what the current wait times are for getting a test in Carlow/Kilkenny? Was referred for testing by GP at 11am today. Really don’t think I’m positive as only symptoms are runny nose and sneezing with no fever but don’t want to leave the house just in case. Only referred as I work on a small open plan office.
