'Last season' not quite over, still holding out for this from the old thread:p
Backing Seville for the Europa, Brits have to run out of luck at some stage...

Brighton let me down for relegation had been backing them all year, sometimes you just get it wrong I would say they are slightly better than I thought.

If liverpool are not value at 15/8 the city at evens way to short.

Stoke to improve under michael o neill need to buy a few defenders should have the funds to strenght up, championship looks weak,

Other than that think my NAP will be west brom for relegation any other thoughts?

West Ham to be relegated looks incredible value at 9/2. A clueless manager, terrible fixtures to kick things off and apparently a few of their decent players leaving.

    Only 3/1 with pp

    Glad I mentioned it now.:P

Going forward, I'm liking Sky Bet's 8/1 on Palace to be the lowest scoring team. Other bookies seem to have them round half that. Ideally you'd wait to see what Zaha is doing I suppose, but I think they'll struggle badly for goals even if he stays.

    9/2 with 365

    9/2 with 365

11/2 with Betway. I guess their sponsorship of the Hammers has to count for something. :o

I think Leicester are good value at around 11/4 to finish in the bottom half. They had a dreadful finish to the season, they have European football to contend with, a couple of their key players are linked to other clubs, Vardy is a year older.

Also, Rodgers is a good manager at making an instant impact and has done well at Leicester but at most of his previous clubs, after 18-24 months things tend to slide a bit.

Really? They finished the season very well and any of their "decent players" leaving are Lanzini, Anderson (who both look disinterested)

Not sure he's a "clueless manager" unless u are a united fan who is still rattled by him being a manager/scapegoat. Since he took over after Pellegrini's shambolic start to the season, he definitely steadied the ship and Hammers played some solid football.. But not sure if u watched the games.

It might be a better bet on Moyes to be fired first, if their fixtures start off bad, rather than a full blown relegation.

    Definitely not a United fan.

I'll definitely be having a decent bet on Moyes being first to get the sack once it opens on 365.

Well as a west ham fan feel I can provide a bit of deeper insight. I'm very much part of the gsb out brigade they are just milking the club to line their own pockets the fan base is becoming very United against them moyes was brought in as he is a yes man and I do think he has done a good job and has the right plans in place but they will not back him with any funds we do have a couple of decent youngsters coming through but it's a big ask to ask them to adapt to the premiership that quickly. Horrible first 7 games of the season moyes only contracted until the end of the season so wont cost much to sack him but they cant let the club go down even though we have no money now if in trouble in January we would 'find' money from somewhere because it will kill their revenue if we go down. Wouldnt turn anyone off backing moyes to go first though

    hes 11/2 on PP..

Only thing that would put be off is the owners are so tight, it would mean he would have to lose the dressing room/fans rioting for them to pay for his sacking!

Dean Smith at 15/2 might be good value too.. Can see Villa struggling this season and he has been lucky enough to keep them up last season.

I'm backing liverpool on exchanges 3.6 serious value IMO

I thought West Ham were serious relegation candidates post-Covid, but of all the teams that I watched playing in the last 4-5 rounds it was themselves and Southampton that impressed me most.
I can see the fixture list looks very challenging though
Saturday 12 September 2020 West Ham 15:00 Newcastle
Sunday 20 September 2020 Arsenal 14:00 West Ham
Saturday 26 September 2020 West Ham 15:00 Wolves
Saturday 3 October 2020 Leicester 15:00 West Ham
Saturday 17 October 2020 Spurs 15:00 West Ham
Saturday 24 October 2020 West Ham 15:00 Man City
Saturday 31 October 2020 Liverpool 15:00 West Ham
They could be bottom 3 after that, but would the club recognise that easier fixtures were round the corner, as opposed to dumping Moyes?

Sorry when is the Racing Post pullout for the Premier League available? This Tuesday is it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 82 ✭✭Forrachmore

The RP pull out can be a good starting point but not the be all and end all, ie stoke were a team I used to back in the premiership few years ago to finish top Midlands club which they won 2 or 3vyears for me I had been watching them closely and I could see their demise I was surprised when one of the RP pundits said that 4/1 was a good bet to win the championship best to form your own opinions specialise in a league or one or two teams you will quickly realise you know as much as so called pundita

With that in mind... aside from your Liverpool comment what are your ante post bets?:pac:

Nketiah definitely shouldn't be nearly 5 times the price of lacazette for top goalscorer ew paying 4 places. Seems like the spot is there for him to take arsenal should be reasonably good goalswise his potential ceiling is pretty high so I've had a go @150/1
