It must be quite hard for Biden to actually respond to a lot of that stuff that Trump says. Purely because it is so idiotic. It must be like being asked to criticise a small child with learning disabilities. You'd be unsure as to what to actually say.

I can’t wait for the debates it’s going to be excellent TV. I don’t think Trump will be able to shout Biden down like he did with Hillary so he may flounder. I’m not sure how much of an effect it’ll have on the election though, as usual both sides will claim a victory.

I wonder how are they preparing Biden for the debates.

Surely it would be like a training camp with one person, a tall, domineering type standing in for Trump and coming out with all sorts of slogan type comments and vague statements.

At least I hope they are doing it.

It's going to be interesting. Biden has a history of having a short fuse so he'll need to make sure to control himself. If he has any brains at all he'll just keep fairly quiet, stick to his own agenda and let Trump destroy himself with his own stupidity.

Biden has taken the reported Trump comments very personally and could you blame him.

Absolutely they'll have a Trump stand in for Biden to spar with and to come out with whatever they can imagine he'd come up with. They have the 2016 debates as a basis to work on as well the last 4 years of Trumps behaviours and talking points. He should be prepared.

Yep. Biden has a history for saying stupid things at the wrong moments which is a concern, but when you're up against a blithering idiot like Trump, it should really work in his favour. I hope he's being well prepared - no matter what people say, the optics of the debates can really have an effect on potential voters.

Haha. He said QAnoners should take advantage of mental health in the Affordable Care Act.

So apparently the Serbia Kosovo deal isn't actually a deal at all and Trump signed a letter acknowledging the non deal. What a circus.

Front and centre. He just had to be seen signing something even though the United States is not party to this.

Lol, does Trump check in every now and again to review progress, or does he chair discussions or did he just throw his name on the page for the photo op.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,447 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

In fairness anything that helps to progress peace and stability in the Balkans is positive. But he literally signed a piece of paper purely for optics.

Any opportunity for a photo op, Trump is going to take it. This is the Reality TV Presidency, remember.

At his presser Biden got a fairly nuanced question on Kosovo Serbia economic deal that was just announced and wider implications for Israel and Palestine relations. Didn't miss a beat in his answer and showed has extensive foreign affairs knowledge. Kinda blew a hole in the dementia narrative again. A few days ago Trump was asked a binary question on whether police officers should wear bodycams or not. He couldn't offer any answer at all.

    But...but....Person, woman, man, camera, TV.

He can remember 5 words in a row! IN A ROW!!!

"If I were an American, I would prefer a Commander in Chief who allows and mocks the deaths of American soldiers than one who doesn't. It just shows he's better suited to the role."

How long do you think it will be? One more day? Two?

This story strikes me as one of those where the press makes the claims, waits for the denials and then releases evidence.

What's funny about this one is that people are denying he would do such a thing when he has already done such things publicly.

It defies reason. To me, this is the weirdest thing about the Trump presidency - the ability of people to believe things from Trump that in other domains they would not. If Trump was just some guy in a pub talking like that, they'd think he was a conman who couldn't be trusted. But now that such a man is POTUS, they believe what he says without question. These are normal, ordinarily rational people but when it comes to Trump, that rationality is suspended.

It's the same shíte that you see in autocracies and cults of personalities throughout history and in far away countries but I never thought that I would be in the same forum as the people enthralled by these types.

    It's mad.

He's doing a live presser now and the level of nonsense and lies is quite high, even for him. Making a load of false claims about Biden and how the country is "doing so well".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,447 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

This press conference is so full of lies and misleading statements. He was asked a question about the poisoning of the Alexei Navalny and what should be done about it but he just went on a rant about China and the virus and that Hillary Clinton would start a war with North Korea. Very weird.

He also showed off geographical knowledge and offered some amazing insight when asked a question by an Indian journalist:

"It's really an incredible place, an incredible country. And it is definitely big. It's definitely big."

He almost certainly believes John Kelly to be one of the sources. Trying to destroy his credibility here.

Maybe he meant he left a message on her answering machine so she could listen to it when they got back.

    Or maybe he's just a f*cking liar.
