I see Biden is off to WI and going to meet with Blake's family.

Joe can say goodbye to votes from normal regular people, in a swing state, who support law and order and their local police forces by pandering to a thug and his family.

If it turns out that Joe's visit doesn't lose him the support of normal regular people, will you look inward and ask yourself what went wrong?

But it's not a right wing fantasy

People in general support and respect law and order, and in general have a positive view of police, not just in the US but in any western democracy.

Put it in an Irish context, do you think a politician would get much support if he was seen to pander to the family of a person with warrants and charges against them who had been injured in an altercation with police (take the shooting out of it because the Gardai don't tend to shoot people).
If that person was a traveller perhaps.

The politician's support would drop like a stone.

To win the election Biden has to win the support of a relatively small demographic.
That demographic is white, blue collar, small c conservative and older.
This is exactly the demographic that have a tendency to respect and support local law enforcement.
They do not have a good view of ethic youths with criminal histories.

"Ethic youths". You mean black and brown people right?? By the way what "criminal history" did Jacob Blake have?

The fact that we've been hearing since May from right wingers about how these protests will vault Trump back into the lead and an easy reelection despite the opposite occurring over that time, would suggest otherwise.

Cool, so why are you ignoring the president telling the public to break the law? Why are you ignoring that he gave condolences to a white supremacist the other day? Also, you realise the US public currently view Biden to be more trustworthy on law and order? Which is understandable given the amount of criminals that he's hired and pardoned over the years.

On top of that, I would expect a moderate/undecided voter views police brutality to be something that should be handled rather than to let the issue grow? The guy in charge eggs on violence if they represent him, he's praised militias. He even proclaimed the innocence of the shooter who has been charged with homicide... That's not a law and justice president. It's an autocrat.

If they're so keen on law and order they shouldn't support a man who repeatedly breaks the law, states the law doesn't apply to him, or keeps pardoning criminal cronies. But it's not law and order many of them want. It's SOME of the laws and the order of their own comfortable bubble.

He's no more of a thug than the criminals Trump has hired to do his dirty work.

Remember what Trump said about football players should go back playing and that young fit men would be unaffected by the virus. Yeah well about that:

The people I'm talking about, the voters, would use another word for him, it starts with n and finishes with r.
Just because they use that term however does not mean they are right wing nut jobs.

America is a very racist country, even in blue cities like Boston in blue states like Massachusetts blacks and whites almost never mingle, they live in different areas, socialise in different places, play in different sports etc.

As for his criminal histories,I believe he was as want for third-degree sexual assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct in connection with domestic abuse on July 6.

So he was not a criminal because Trump supporters already established earlier in this thread that it's impossible to be a criminal unless you've been convicted. It looks like the Trumpist messaging is a bit inconsistent tonight.

Someone should have a word with those "Normal Regular people" so

Bidens support has increased in Wisconsin since the start of all the trouble there and Trumps has declined..

And in the 6 Polls taken in Wisconsin since the Blake incident the Biden lead is as follows

    Biden 50% , Trump 42% - 8%
    Biden 49% , Trump 41% - 8%
    Biden 52% , Trump 42% - 10%
    Biden 53% , Trump 42% - 11%
    Biden 51% , Trump 43% - 8%
    Biden 53% , Trump 40% - 13%

    Hmmm???

Yeah, called a woman "dog faced" - what a gent.

Not the most gentlemanly moment, I agree.

Ever heard of a guy called Trump? There are so many more and they're so much worse.

The US presidency is a two horse race. Nobody is saying Biden is perfect. Just that Trump is massively worse in every regard. Every criticism lobbed at Biden is something that Trump as far worse at. Outside of tickling peoples' racism bone, Trump has nothing on Biden who's fairly boring.

Yeah, called a woman "dog faced" - what a gent.

As opposed to tan in a cans less than perfect record. Seriously lads if you're gonna call Biden out for something then make sure your own guy hasn't done much worse first :pac:

You can now add "horseface" to the list of insults President Donald Trump has hurled at women publicly, which also includes "fat pigs," "slobs," and "dogs," to name a few.

Oh, for goodness sake, he was clearly joshing. She and the audience members laughed along. It's a throwaway line from some old film he has used before in a lighthearted way.

It's a clumsy joke, clearly no malice behind it.

Yeah that was brutal alright but more clumsy and stupid than any mal-intent.

I'm not disagreeing that there is an obvious contraction there.

But as I said earlier people tend to support their local police department.

The people that they see as keeping their property, their locality and themselves safe.

They often turn a blind eye to criminality that they don't persive to impact them, I think we all do.

So you're getting upset because people point out hypocrisy? When Trump supporters post something negative about Biden of course it's fair and logical to remind them that Trump has not only done the same thing but worse!

So Pelosi goes for a haircut and the Trump zealots foam at the mouth.

Trump holds a rally during a global pandemic (not many masks there) and Trump zealots cheer like clapping monkeys

In fairness, we've addressed your criticisms. None of us have claimed he's perfect but many of your more extreme criticisms have been based on a speech impediment or the fact that he's an experienced politician.

You can't rally behind Trump without a real life rally!

Trump has got to give his supporters what they want, and it's fairly evident that they want a Trump rally with the crowd that has formed outside!
