Sed command to change log.info to print

So i've loads of code in my repo with the log.info log.debug etc etc. I want to run a sed command to change them to print commands so theyll show in console for pycharm while im troubleshooting. Something like

sed -i  's/log.*(/print(/g'  filename

How to do this. And for an extra brownie point, how to undo it

Why not remove the default handlers and replace them with your own console handler?

import logging

log = logging.getLogger('some-instance-name')

for handler in log.handlers:
    log.removeHandler(handler)

console_handler = logging.StreamHandler()
console_handler.setLevel(logging.DEBUG)
console_handler.setFormat(logging.Formatter("%(levelname)s - %(message)s"))

log.addHandler(console_handler)

Although it's almost certainly the wrong approach. Assuming you're using the default Python logging library, you can just use the basicConfig method to configure log messages to go to standard output

And what you have there does that:

~$ echo -e "test\nlog.debug('test')\ntest" > filename
~$ cat filename
[COLOR="Red"]test
log.debug('test')
test[/COLOR]
~$ sed -i  's/log.*(/print(/g'  filename
~$ cat filename
[COLOR="Red"]test
print('test')
test[/COLOR]

But, as above, it's not the correct way to do it
