Prices are much better than expected, but we need to be realistic about those performance numbers. They were not apple to apple comparisons.

very reasonable considering previous titan prices

There is that. Not much more than a 2080ti.

RTX IO looks sick as well. decompressing 7GB/s on the gpu

Yeah, I'm genuinely interested in seeing this in action.

I wonder are reviewer embargos now lifted and we'll see benchmarks over the next days?

Have to say the pricing took my by surpise. RTX 2080Ti performance at $450 is pretty good in my book.

Definitely not but still exciting as hell.

Can someone please just upload their benchmarks now.....

If there is a 3060 then it's going to be burning hot vis price v performance if its any way close to 1080ti performance

Card to get too I reckon, probably 2080 to 2080 super performance

    299-349

Will rival the gpu's in the consoles

But is that 2080Ti performance in general, averaged across multiple titles, or in DLSS/RTX enabled games only?

Especially since he said they're working with microsoft. Meaning it won't just be inside some optimised games

This is the thing to be answered. Most of that show seemed to be chatting about RTX on. In reality that applies to very few games right now so most interesting to me anyway will be raster performance comparisons.

Guess we will know the answer to that in the upcoming days and weeks.

I bought a Titan X Pascal back in 2016 and it's still going strong. I got a 65" LG OLED C9 back in November and I've been waiting for a HDMI 2.1 card to launch. This is the most excited I've been about hardware in a long time. I'll wait for benchmarks to see if the RTX 3090 is worth it over the RTX 3080, that is a lot of dough.

I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the prices here (never thought I'd say that about an NVIDIA launch). $699 for an 80-class car isn't too bad, all things considered. The big question will be the performance improvement, and if the 2x Jensen mentioned is solely in unrealistically high RT scenarios.

Any hints as to when the review embargo lifts? I assume it's at least a few days away.

Have heard it'll be a week before the cards go on sale, so probably next week at some stage

Ah the 3080 might be a bit of an upgrade from my 970. Which is now worthless I thinks, may just keep it boxed up somewhere as a relic/backup.

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/compare/

RTX 3090 has 10496 cuda cores compared to 4352 for the 2080ti. That's 2.4X the raster compute power!

Still worth 100 or so to most buyers.

  • You'll have to be fast on the trigger to secure one of these cards i bet.

Flight sim will probably still struggle to hit 60fps on 1440p Ultra

Most people have no idea of the value - or lack of - when it comes to GPU. YOu only have to look at Adverts for that proof. 1080ti going for 500-600, they'll be worth 200 after these launch

Anyone got the TGP details on these cards?

Delivery will be expensive seeing as it'll take two to lift it and nothing else will fit in the van with it.

Unless RTX IO removes a bottleneck for the streaming data.
