I'm waiting for my full license to arrive. Should I still continue to drive accompanied, with my learner permit and display L plates? Or can I drive on my own now, with N plates?

Technically you're not allowed until you have the physical license in your hand, however what I'd heard is that if you've your form and cert sent off already, then it'll be with you in a week anyway, so even if you do get pulled, which probably isn't likely, you can show the license within 10 days.

I personally wouldn't risk it, after all, you've survived this long, what's another week or so? Wouldn't want to start your solo driving career by chancing your arm with a few points. But I'm more by the book, as my brother did all the wrong things to piss the guards off and now he's banned off the road for his crimes. And I don't want to cause my mam that same stress again, 2020's been tough enough as it is :D

    In short - no.
"It is a legal requirement that when driving in Ireland, the driver must be in possession of a valid driving licence for the class of vehicle driven. "

No you legally can’t. I’d imagine it’s more than likely a Gard wouldn’t penalise you but there’s always the risk that one would.

One of the main things required to drive is the abity to pay attention to what's going on. Did you not pay attention to the examiner when they told you, you passed but can't drive without the license?

It's spelled licence all over the world, except USA.

So? What's that got to do with what I said?

It's funny because you weren't paying attention.

Eh, no. It doesn't take from what I said at all.
