Completely dead here now by Kinsale. Not even a slight breeze. It’s bizarre considering the gusts we had just 5 minutes ago.

Do we really need 20+ posts about a Ryanair plane holding over Cork?

i find it gripping to be honest.

It's landed now, so no need to be concerned anymore.

Its a change from hundreds of posts about something we know thats going to happen

Well we know the plane is going to land, its hardly going to stay up there.

At this stage people normally give live updates of conditions in their area, this is then compared with the forecast, these are the "hundreds of posts" I guess you are referring to? That's what the weather forum is for strangely enough.

Pressure Drop in NW Cork up to 22:00 - fair play to Met Eireann - they look to have called this perfectly.

    17:00 - 991.7 hpa
    20:00 - 986.8 hpa
    21:00 - 982.9 hpa

    22:00 - 977.2 hpa

And that is why they held for so long. Top class.

After a relatively calm evening, the wind is now very much audible for the past ~15 minutes. Expecting it to get significantly worse slowly over the next hour or four.

I've taken down the radio antennas in preparation for the possible gusts in the wee hours, and we'll see what the devastation looks like in the morning.

Barometer on the watch suggests 972 as does the barometer in my Galaxy S10 , 45m ASL in Castletroy, Limerick. I'll be watching the pressure drop on the devices..

That was pretty sweet. Watching it on flight radar and opening my window and hearing it as it passed over the Wilton area to land.
